Had confirmation yesterday of a November '08 build slot for my 599 which is great that it's coming earlier than expected but I'd have preferred a different time of Year as I'm planning collection from the factory and driving a few of the Alps passes on the way home, reckon they might be a bit slippy in November or worse still, closed :(

Now what Colour to order :)

Congrats! Are you adding to or replacing your 575? If it's a replacement, I say get the same dark blue! If it's an addition, then I'd say black

Andrew, I can only delay ie no earlier slot, it would move it to Spring '09, it maybe the better choice as I won't do many miles between Nov and March anyway due to Weather

Webby, to replace the 575, I'm keen on TdF but my 550 was also TdF and people think I have no imagination :) I'd love to have Rosso Monza but due to repair dififculties they are not recommending it (and it's a huge price) my short list (today :) ) is Metallic Black, TdF or Rosso Corsa. I also have my name down for the F149 which assuming it is a smaller Car I see in Rosso so one of the metallics would be a better choice for the 599

    Congrats Mark!

I would definitely pass up on this slot, and take the next one so that you can get delivery in late Spring.... what a perfect way to experience the Alps!!

Blue is one of my favorite colors on the 599, and I don't think anyone would blame you for ordering it in TdF. I think Silverstone or Argento is also a fantastic color (and, like you, *love* the Rosso Monza) for this car. I think that some of the Anniversary colors work well too, but I will be sorely tempted to go "Canna di Fucile" over sabbia when my time comes....

No delay, this is only the date today and Ferrari will most likely delay it for you if there a strike!

Rosso Barchetta might be worth a look.

I say either stick with TdF or go with Grigio Silverstone.

I would consider your color question based on your preferences re interior color: if you prefer a black interior TdF or even Pozzi is not the perfect match... With black interior you have to combine black (either standard or - as I opted for - Nero Daytona). Silver stitching might be an option if you go for black/black and would like to add some depth and attention to detail to the interior.

If you prefer Crema, Sabbia, Tan or Cuoio you could either go for a shade of blue or black. An interesting observation I made recently is that the contrast between exterior and interior color should not be too big for best looks. Thus black/cuoio looks better than black/tan in real life. I was rather surprised to note this when comparing two black cars standing next to each other.

Red is (of course) very different from the above colors. Personally, I think the 599 looks great in red. However, a dark blue or black 599 will always be more elegant and understated.

thanks and I started the same way, my 550 had Blu Scuro interior, my 575 Beige/Blu, I prefer the lighter cabin of the Beige and having had two cars with Crema (328, 355) I feel it's a bit much in the bigger cars. My temptation is to go for Tan/Blue again or Tan/ Black although I'ver seen a picture on here with Black/ Silver stitching and it looked very nice. For the exterior I'd really like Rosso Monza but it's a huge cost and I'm waiting to hear back from Ferrari GB to see if the 'return to factory' repair is still the only option. After that I like the TdF (but I've had two Tdf carsand people think I have no imagination!) or Metallic Black, Rosso looks good but i have my name down ofr the F149 to go alongside the 599 and assuming that's going to be a smaller V8 car I think that's going to be the Rosso Red one :)

Have your dealer told you anything about "F149" expected sales begining and delivery terms? I am on the list as well, but my dealer cannot provide me information as for now.

I've heard nothing definate, I read Mike's posts (Icemanbops) to get my product information :) seriously though they seem confident it is happening, will be launched at Geneva but I think RHD cars will not come to the UK until mid 2009

    Hi Andrew

the lighter metallics seem not to be as popular when it comes to resale, I'm hoping to see a Rosso Monza car early next week :)

'08 I know, but I have to spec it by June so that's only 8 months to choose a colour :)

Congrats. Factory delivery will be fantastic. I would delay to Spring 09 and then you will have an 09 09 car. There also seem to be a lot of ongoing enhancements.

The "enhancements" thing is an intersting point. Historically, I recall, Ferrari introduced enhancements as they were ready to, thus no model year cycle. Does anybody have some information on how Ferrari handles this today?
