Anybody know the average time between status 90 (which in my case was 10/3) and when the car will hit the dock in NJ?? Reason for asking is I don't want the dealer prep in NJ, I just want them to put it on the transporter and i want to timely remind them that's what I want to have happen.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.

It took 3 weeks for me (August 2012). Yours might be a bit longer depending on weather in the Atlantic.

When the system shows Status 90 and when the car is actually on a boat, and/or the boat moving, is highly variable (along with the timeliness of all other status codes)

Seems the over/under on boat departure and arrival in NJ is 4-6 weeks, but the customs process at the port can be days, or 2 weeks.

When you say "dealer prep" - do you mean the importation steps? FAPS (the import facility in Newark) does not do what you'd commonly call "dealer prep", more about decontainerizing and import compliance processes.

If you're referring to the dealer PDI and "detailing", am sure you can work that with your dealer. We have our cars PDI'd and washed, we have been having a local expert do the detailing on the new cars. Our cars are 4-for-4, in that the dealer found out our car was inbound when it rolled off the truck.

Thanks - what I'm talking about is in crating it, leaving the plastic wrap on it (keeping the guys with the power buffers away from it) and putting it on the transporter.
