This is a general question regarding Ferrari deliveries. I have a 296 gtb that was ordered May 10th (status 10R) completed July 25th. Very reasonable. It was in status 90 for 2 months before going to status 91 in New Jersey now for 1 month. There are no updates available as Ferrari doesn't provide dealers with any additional information on deliveries until status 92. What I will essentially have is a brand new year old model 2023 car by the time I receive it. Am I entering 2024 with a depreciated car because it's a previous model year or nothing?

    Thank you for your opinions.

This is a clear example of Ferrari managing earnings. Once a car leaves NJ, that is considered a sold car for Ferrari. My assumption, Ferrari delivered more cars in the 3 rd quarter than analysts estimates. We will see results soon. Of my assumption is correct, they did not need your car to leave NJ until the 4th quarter. Sorry but it’s all about the stock price

Managing quarterly numbers seems plausible, I have no idea. Though we're well into a new quarter at this point, not sure why they'd still be dragging their feet?

    Other possible answers:
    1. Port facility is just backed up. From what I've heard, a month in stage 91 is the high end of normal, but it happens.
    2. There could have been damage that needs to be repaired. I believe the port facility would normally do such work. These are typically minor and nothing to worry about, but can cause delays. And it can be something more serious. I'd ask your dealer if they have a way of finding out if anything happened.
    3. I've heard of two cases where a container got misplaced and caused a delay while the port searched for it. (As big as a container is, the port is so vast it can still be a needle in a haystack problem.)
I'd put my money on number one and I bet you get happy news soon. I have my fingers crossed for you!

'depreciated'? -- don't these cars sell for more than MSRP on used market?

Thanks for the reply. I'm just pissed I'm going to have a 1 year old new car!! I will paint meter all the panels as well when I receive it for reassurance.

The 10th digit of the VIN will tell you your model year.

My 296 GTB status was 85 (ready to ship) at the beginning of October 2023. From the VIN, in the My Ferrari app, I discovered that mine is a 2024.

P is 2023. My 2024 build is R. The benefit, of 2023, is that you may have is a lower base price. Supposedly, according to multiple 296 Fchat posts, the base price goes up for 2024. Granted they also tend to make options standard whenever they raise the base price.

At least your car is on the way. Put down a deposit on my SF90 Spider on 12/21 and there is no firm commitment when it will be made.

from what I have been hearing, 1-2 months at the port is sadly not unusual. My local dealer has a car that's been there since early August with no clear updates as to why.

Part of it is also poor/limited availability of trucks, especially for cross-country routes.
