Cool event, who's the new Pres? Not that jackass blimp of an attorney or whatever he is...i forget his name (no no, im not poking fun of art) - the guy jim hinga or something... seems to be the subject of ridicule and hate from most people (for good reason), is it??

Actually, he's a pretty good guy when you get to know him. Spends huge amounts of time making sure that the club works. I disagree with his politics, but he's a pretty good guy. The new President isn't him.

Thanks for the reminder, probably need to give Gil a call. Last year it was a great day in the Delta, so if no rain....then I'm probably there. Otherwise it's a good day for a flying lesson at SQL.

    Gotcha.

Having considered your post, Don, doesn't change the fact that the majority thinks he's an ass. You're entitled to yours, I'm entitled to mine. C'est tout.

Wow! That was a lot of fun! Great friends. Great scenery even with the fog. Great venue. Superb food. The drive was marred by that accident over the embankment, though. I pray the passenger recovers soon. Can't wait for next year's event!
Art, Thanks for leading us out of the Delta!

Yup. Great fun today (discounting the accident)! Nice to see people I haven't seen in a while. Norm, I could tell you loved the food but were holding back in the name of winning your bet 8 weeks from now. Good luck. And Art thanks for leading us out of the backwoods to civilization, I'd still be in a fog...literally.....and what was up with that brown Jeep?

About the Jeep driver: Got me. True idiot. After Janos' accident, I wasn't about to blow him off, just let him go.

Hopefully Janos and his wife are going to be ok, but it sure brings out why you absolutely need to check your rear view mirror before pulling out to pass someone. Fortunately, no serious injuries (I think), but one totalled 360 though.

I got a call this morning on Janos and Tish's condition. They will be OK. Janos has a broken rib and Tish is in pain with deep bruising.

Here are some photos from yesterday's FCA Delta Dash. My thanks to the fellow FCA/Fchatters for making the event enjoyable. We had a lot of great cars from the vintage Lusso to the modern 360s.

Many more fun events planned in the FCA Pacific Region calendar this year. Check out our Web site:
    http://www.ferraripacific.org/
Since my file size quota is so small on FChat, I will post more photos on the FCA site above in the Past Events/2005 section.

Kudos to you Gil for a wonderful job organising this super event.

It truly is a miracle that Janos and Trish got away with only a broken rib and bruising. I feared the worst when I saw how far the car flew off the road. Thank God.

You can email them to me, and I'll post them here if you want. Great shot of me in the one you did post though. It was a good day, except for Janos' accident. I spoke them him today, and both he and Tish will recover. I got to see the entire incident, I was just behind both of them, and it looked a lot worse than it ended up being, though. Janos got several ribs, as did his wife. It goes to show that when you pull out to pass, you need to 1. signal, and 2. LOOK. The guy in the TR did neither, and this is the result. we probably are all guilty of those omission occassionally, but this is what happens when the situation catches up with you.

    Art -

Of course I agree, but when Janos pulled out to pass the 2 Ferraris and a truck, my first thought was, "holy crap, this could get interesting." I mean you know the 2 Ferraris behind the truck were going to be anxious to go, and rear vision out of a TestaRossa is not all that great. The greater fault has to go to the TR, but that was not a pass I would have attempted.

It was absolutely the wildest looking crash I've seen away from a race track, and really only a few race crashes have been as terrifying to watch. I thought we would be mourning 2 dead enthusiasts and friends for sure. They were VERY lucky. If they had hit any of the tree trunks they flew through instead of just the branches, or even the posts where they came to rest, they would have been toast. A couple of broken ribs and bruises, unbelievable, especially when they left the right side door behind.

I don't remember seeing any signs of airbag deployment - do you?

    Gary
