Planning a group dream drive following some of the Colorado Grand routes. Would need to ship a F355, Diablo, and 911 from Chicago to Denver, then back again. We would fly in and meet the cars.

Finding exotic car transport is easy but I’m looking for any suggestions on Denver area facilities that would receive and hold the 3 cars for a day or 2 then ensure they get back on a truck at the end of our trip?

I’m in the early stages of planning and would welcome any advice.

Hi - I would suggest Ferrari of Denver and would be happy to broach the subject with them. I am quite sure they would be happy to have the cars there for a couple of days and are very used to having cars delivered and picked up (obviously). The might even be willing to help with the planning of the Drive - i.e. meet at FoD and depart from there etc. (not sure but we do a lot of drives and it is quite common to meet and depart from FoD.

FoD is located right off C470 so a great place to depart for drives West into the mountains or South/North etc.

If interested I plan to be by there on Saturday and more than happy to initiate the conversation and if they are good with it in concept then I can put you in contact with either/all my sales guy, the GM or the Director of Marketing - all great guys and love this type of thing.

    LMK - Cheers :)

I’m thinking around April/May. I’m debating on whether to bring my Countach or Diablo. The Countach runs better on cool crisp air. I know my friend in the F355 loves cooler air as well.

Again, I’m open to suggestions if you have a better thought.

April is a bit early for mountain driving. You'll still encounter snow, salt and sand on the roads. I'm not sure what the route will be, but I'd suggest not beginning until at least May, and June would be better.

@Dave Bertrand is 100% correct- I've seen nasty snow storms as late as June- in town- not to mention the mountains- In fact just last year we had one in mid May.

I would strongly suggest mid to late June at the earliest. We don't get into the hot months consistently until July/August and even then the temps are not bad and humidity is usually low. I have a 95 355 and never have a issue- although she does prefer the cooler air.

One other thing you (probably have) may want to consider is altitude- I've not been fortunate enough (yet) to own a Coutach or Diablo but just something you may want to consider. Depending on the route you cab run into some thin air.

As suspected FoD was closed Saturday for Xmas but will speak with them ASAP and revert.

    Cheers

I appreciate everyone’s input and will be shifting the trip to mid-late June.

I’d love to hit some of the amazing passes like the one that goes by A-Basin. Hopefully I can minimize chances of running into snow.

Yes, go after Memorial Day. You will see lots of snow on the passes but the roads will be mostly clear, kind of gravelly. Enjoy!
