I have a spare plenum that I am going to repaint (thinking about even painting it something other than red but not sure). Does anyone have a source in Denver who can do the proper cleaning, polishing, and wrinkle finish repaint? Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I may have somebody. Let me find out if he can do it. I too need some parts finished that way, so if you find somebody please let me know. I'll do the same if I come up with anything.

What about powder coating? I used Pristine Powder Coating. Give Lee (owner) a call and get his input on getting a Krinkle finish. He may point you in the right direction.

Hang tight, guys. I might have found someone who does things like this. I'll let you know by mid week.

I think that I am also going to do the a couple other items, like cam covers for my other cars, so I'll probably be dropping off a fair amount of stuff.

Okay, I got it figured out but it's not one step. I was going to do a throttle body at the same time. 3R can dissemble, strip, and clean, and then Lee from Pristine can do the powder coating. The thing is that you have really have it prepped for powder coating as it seems like they are pretty backed up and it's not a great thing to give them extra work.

That said, I am thinking of leaving them as is. Just a thorough cleaning. Not entirely sure yet.

I've got my valve covers all cleaned up. I may try to do one myself with VHT's "crinkle paint," but who knows how that will turn out. At least if it's truly awful, I can blast it off again. Thanks for posting up the info I will definitely give them a call if the VHT paint is unsatisfactory.

For cleaning, I would say use some Simple Green. Spray it on, let sit for a couple minutes, and spray it off with water afterwards. That has generally worked on our race cars in the past. How dirty are your parts? My valve covers were so filthy I had to use a brush and brake clean.

I think Pristine outsources the bead blasting (or they did that for my rear valence).

On my 308 plenum, I painted it with the VHT paint. It actually looks better after it has cured by heat from driving. Did lots of cleaning etc first. If you guys want to try some VHT paint before buying a can, i have some left.
