Dedollarization worldwide. When the US froze Russian-held Treasuries a few years ago, it was a sign and Central Banks have been replacing dollars with gold ever since. Now add decreasing interest rates, lack of trust in US govt (shutdown), Fed basically giving up on his 2% target, massive unsustainable govt debts worldwide that continue to swell, etc and all signs point to gold continuing it's run.

When gold hit 3200 back in May was it obvious it would hit 4100 in 6 months? So now, we can be certain it will hit 6000 by January or do you think it will pull back to a new floor? As a long hold, it is fine but I don’t think anyone knew for certain the rate of increase which was my point.

Well, I don’t want to derail the thread even more, so, to the point, generally speaking, Ferraris depreciate. :)

No but it was clear that it wasn't going back to $2300 .. overall trend was up.

Even Jamie Dimon said yesterday it's likely on it's way to 5,000 - 10,000/oz.

Yes the 12C will depreciate. But will be interesting to see what the 12C VS eventually does especially relative to build quantity.
