Let's say a person bought a new Roma (Berlinetta) 6-12 months ago and now wishes to sell it.
Without getting bogged down with details like mileage, colors or options, etc, but more in general terms, what kind of depreciation percentage could/should/would be expected ?
    10 %, 20% or more ?
    Asking for a friend.

I would go in expecting 20%+... If it ends up being less, I'd consider it a win.

Thanks but I was just asking for a rough idea based on some experience from those who buy, sell or follow "markets" of 6-12 month old exotic/high-end vehicles like Ferraris.
Besides, I've always had less than full confidence in public auctions self-governed/-regulated, i.e. unverifiable "results" reporting, not to mention how many "actual" transactions of less than 12 month old Ferraris and alike exotics can one expect to find in online auctions database ?
Wouldn't most of such be consigned with or traded in at dealers specializing re-selling nearly new cars along with brand new ones ?
All this of course makes no difference to me, as I personally have no interest in modern cars, exotic or otherwise.
It just came up in a conversation with a friend who has one.

Well, IMO a "Bid to" or any 12+ month old "Sold for" example doesn't really mean anything in this context.
Again, I was just hoping for opinions/views based on experiences, but thanks for your interest and efforts.

The resale market on new Ferraris is vastly different today, than it was 12, or even 6 months ago.

Gone are the days where appreciation is the foregone conclusion. Anyone buying a new Roma today (or having done so recently) should be prepared for it to cost them a not-insignificant sum in depreciation, which is a relatively new situation for new car (Ferrari) buyers.

Thank you for confirming my suspicions, but as I said, I was merely wondering if today's depreciation expectation (for a 6-12 month old production Ferrari) is in the 10, 20 or higher percentage range. That's all.

P.S. I told my friend I wouldn't be surprised of +/-25 % drop and asked if the enjoyment in miles & time were worth it.

If its "Only" 10% over 6 or 12 months that probably beats all other new cars. Probably even 20%.

Also if you ordered it and waited for it that would be vastly different than walking in and writing a check. Lots of different possibilities in that scenario.

I heard rumors that Roma is failure, Ferrari is disappointed with sales numbers and lack of interest from customers. Anyone heard similar news?

The Roma was unveiled in 2019 and began sales in 2020. At the time, Ferrari was trading between 100 and 200 USD. Today, Ferrari is trading over 400 USD. Of course there are a lot of factors involved other than the Roma, but I can't imagine they are disappointed in many big decisions at this stage in the game.

You're a piece of work. You ask a question and then start insulting people who give you an answer. It must be really tuff to be you.

15% - 20% off MSRP wholesale price maybe
Retail, most hold their value at least through the first 6 months then slowly drop year over year, 3 years later a $285k is still asking $230k
assume it sells for $200k, that a 30% loss over 3 years.
SE are obviously a completely different animal.

Other factors to consider are what an owner did or paid to get to the position to be able to purchase a new Ferrari at MSRP.
Does one add that " value " to the equation?

I don't think the Roma is in the same position yet, but it is coming one of these years. We bought a new California T in the last year of production. It was an attractive spec and kept miles low. Our 6 month depreciation was 30%. I think that is worst case for the Roma, Porto, SF90, and Lusso type models. I wouldn't expect that from the Puro, 296, or 812 ever.

    Wow !?!

I’ve always been under the impression Texans being a tuff bunch, not easily incensed over mundane online discussion comments/replies by others, especially if/when none of it appears to concern or be directed at them, but…

And yes, it has always been tuff being me, but I’m kind of used it by now, so no need to worry. ;)

This also made me wonder if the promise I’ve read here, more than once, about being placed on ignore will ever actually materialize or were those too just empty/pointless posts between music videos.
    Perhaps a word of a Texan isn’t what I would’ve expected ?
