Hi, I'm looking for the wiring diagrams for my 1987 328 GTS. I have for for 1989 but I don't think it is exactly the same as for a 1987. If anyone could let me know if the diagrams I have now are the same, or if not where I could find the 1987 schematics I would be very very grateful Thanks.
The non-abs US 328 wiring diagram is available here: http://www.ferraridatabase.com/The_Downloads/Manuals_Other.htm
These are the best available for free...but they really suck, even after I wrote all the component ID's on the printouts. I'm waiting for Paul308 to make the big ones for the 328. I just don't have the time myself.
Thanks for the replies. I already have the ones mentioned and as you said, they suck. I was hoping to find something better to work from. I will post here if I do find anything. Thanks again.
The colored ones from Paul308 are amazing, at least I think thats who I'm thinking of, he's linked off of Birdman's site. I bought them for the GT4. There were so many on his site, surprised there wasn't one for the 328, great value for $20.
He does not have one for the 328. The 328 comes in multiple pages and are in pretty good shape. Still, I have a habit of redrawing the circuit area I am working on at the time to see the logic behing the connections. That works, sometimes.
There are 2 pdf 328 wiring booklets that I'm aware of. One is b/w and is 21 pages without the ABS brakes is marked US but no date. The other is 34 pages and is marked US 1989 and has yellow cover with blue component backgrounds. If anyone knows what electrical changes were made besides ABS from 1986-1989 please pass that information on. I have spent some time with these and have 'put together' the separate pages of figures 1-9 in b/w jpeg form but never went any farther. Example below is Fig 6 Lights ___________________________ http://www.FerrariDiagrams.com . Image Unavailable, Please Login
Okay. Firstly, thanks to everyone who took the time to respond. I have taken apart the fusebox and was surprised to see how they made it. The circuit board appears to be two layers (I've never seen anything like this but I suppose it's one way to reduce the size. Basically, it's not just a flat board but a 2 tier board. I suppose this is fine until the layers start to delaminate and resolding is not a simple task. SO..........I'm going to put it back and I know that it might work sometimes and sometimes not. My solution is to wire in a bypass that when switched on will feed +12v DC through a 25 amp fuse directly to the pump. I know all the issues with not having a relay and the safety issues in the event of a collision or fire. But I also have a track car which requires the fuel pump(s) to be turned on and off manually so I think I can handle the extra switch flip. Does anyone know the best pickup points for the 12 volt supply and the feed to the fuel pump? I plan on building a switch box for this and when I'm done and it works well I will post the parts list and build info here. Thanks
I am looking for an original printed copy of the 1989 wiring diagram, if anyone knows where I can buy a copy please let me know. Thanks in advance.
Sounds like a plan to me. The diagram below was taken from 328 Fig 2 and has the pickup points you requested. You may wish to remove the normal fuse (4th one marked #20) and the fuel pump relay (r) Guido from Belgium posted a complete repair of the fuse/relay pc board panel with pictures should it become necessary. Even in 1989, a 2-layer PCB is not that advanced. I have seen (but not have done) someone here totally fixing a board by replacing all the printed wires with actual wires. Maybe you can just replace the wires assoicated with the relay for the fuel pump. But, your solution for a separate fuse would also work.
