I have just finished a web site on our early Countach -- full of photos, specifications, and text. People interested in these early cars will find
interesting material, fun, controversy, driving impressions and details
of the engine/clutch/transmission, plus photos from the factory in 1982.
    Enjoy.

    Dave,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, perspective and experiences. Your car is stunning. The early Countach is one of the true automotive icons and it's great to see someone actually enjoying their artwork.

Would love to have one someday!

    Congrats!!

David - wonderful site with neat info. I learned a lot about Countaches. One suggestion, though, would be to reduce the .jpeg quality of those pictures - it still took several minutes to load on a high speed connection.

    No wing, good!

I see that you are using full-sized images and shrinking them down in the code. If that's the size you want them then shrink them to that size so you don't have to do it programatically. Anyone with less than a good high-speed connection and LOTS of memory is going to have a difficult time downloading your site. You can play with the save settings to adjust the file size vs image quality. That can make a great difference by keeping a large image but without sacrificing visual quality.

If you want to keep the images that size -- maybe so people can click on them and get a better view -- then you should seriously consider breaking the web page in to sections.

Great effort, though. Yummy car! Good job!

i posted a reply on the "other " site as well, welcome to fchat, and thank for documetning your time with such a wonderful car.

i have to ask : do you know if the car was used in a calander in the late 80's early 90's ?? i used to have this calander that had all these c/t's on it, and there were 2 shots of a car in there that looked identical to yours. the pics were posed with various landscapes in the back. i thought i had saved a few of the pages for the pics, but i have moved several times and cant find them.

regardless, what a great site, a black carb countach with the gold wheels is "the" car that i am working towrds. thank you so much to you and your wife for sharing with all of us .

Was this the same car that was featured in the UK mag Classic and Sportscar as I read about in when I was visiting the UK earlier this year!
