How much less should one pay to detail a Cab vs a Coupe assuming nothing is done to the fabric top?

It depends on the job. If I'm doing a wash or wash & wax prices are exactly same for wash and maybe slightly lower for w&w. If there's a step of claying and polishing involved, it should be a little less but I would charge a person a little less for cab vs coupe but not much.

The way I work... On an average car there are roughly 45-50 "polishing sections". These sections would be the small areas on each panel that get polished one by one. There are roughly 6 of these on the roof/pillars. So 6/50=12% of the overall job. However you need to understand that it will still need washing and drying, so it's not like you're taking off a full 12%. On top of that, even if the top is to be completely left alone during washing/drying, it still needs to be fully protected so dust, polish residue, etc. doesn't make the fabric dirty during the detail job.

In short, I will take off up to 5-6% if a client doesn't want me to even touch the top, but usually it's the same price as the top gets its own sort of treatment... wash, dry, dust/hair removal, protection during polishing and some sort of protection from the elements at the end of the detail job.

    Hope that helps.
