After speaking with Luca Dal Monte at Ferrari (he runs PR for "Gruppo Ferrari Maserati North America") I've decided to go to the Detroit Auto Show.

Normally, I avoid Detroit at all costs. First of all it's freezing cold. Second, there's WAY too much importance placed on American Cars. Next, Detroit is not, shall we say, the most fun place in the world to go. Finally, I have not found even a remotely decent hotel near the show. Oh, and have I mentioned how cold it is in Detroit in the winter?

HOWEVER, after speaking with Luca, and listening to his "enthusiastic recommendation" to attend the Detroit show if at all possible, I've decided that I'm going to make the trek.

Perhaps an announcement on a 430 and 575 spider? Maybe a sneak peek at the 575 replacement? The did debut the 612 in Detroit...

    Who wants to come?

I very may very well join you. I have some clients in Detroit and this makes a PERFECT excuse to go and see them (for a minute while I spend the rest of my time at the show!). Emil, is there anyway you can hook a brotha up so I don't walk around the place on my own like a "regular show attendee"? No problem if you can't hook me up with "Emil Power", but I figured I would ask and hope for the best. ;-)

As for Detroit, I agree with you but they are trying to build the place up and we may be able to find a decent place this year after a long period of "rebuilding" downtown. We'll see...

BTW, what are the dates for the show?

You'll have a hard time finding a room nearby. Auto execs and journalists from around the world come to this show. It is WELL worth going to. Get your reservations early.

I'm down to come. I was considering going for a while now. My father may tag along as well. We plan on checking out the new Z06. You know how important those American cars are. ;)

What dates will you be going? Can you get us into the press days? We have a contact to get dealer tickets at the very worst.

Hey man, if you want to come to Detroit in January, please do. You can get your own press credentials though -- you covered the show in Paris! :)

Thanks again for all your help Andrew. I could NOT have made that trip without your guidance and assistance!

What do you mean Detroit is boring? You got legalized gambling and "happy ending" (across in Canada 10 min drive)...what more could you ask for?

Also, I have some friends who still live in Ann Arbor, so lodging is not a problem.

    Count me in.
