Went last night to the Detroit North America International Autoshow. It was very nice overall - pretty crowded as usual...

Just wanted to provide my Ferrari and Lambo Update for you all.

I strolled through pretty much all the marquees before I ended with Ferrari and Lambo. Some pretty cool stuff - I was with a few entusiasts (I took about 13 people with me) I think the new Challenger looked pretty cool - the Vanquish and bentleys also nice... Ok so I spent the first hour quickly going through all the other displays and the 2nd hour on Ferrari and Lambo :) :)

Got to the ferrari stand - they let me up (including my friends) to take a closer look at the cars they had with them. The Cauley guys were very nice as usual - and very accomodating. They had a 430 Spider - which is starting to grow on me. They had 2 612 - the Titanium colored one looked much better than the god awful 2 tone Bing Cherry red on top and bright red on the bottom - not sure I have ever seen that type of 2 tone on a ferrari - nor would I recommend it. They also had a 430 Challenge as well - I would love to take that on the track - very spartan and I am sure would be a blast.

I was surprised they didn't stick up a 430 coupe in the mix - but they only had the 2 612's and the 430 Spider and Challenge.

Went to the Lambo area - and Harvey from Lambo of Ohio (as well as Ron) was there. Harvey called at me to come on in with all my friends (very nice considering the amount of people I had with me).

They were very accomodating. I got to see my First Spyder up close (and since I had ordered one about 1 year ago - could not wait to see it!). It was WICKED!!! The car looks terrific - they walked us through the features of the car, etc. They also took the group through all the specs of which I ordered - in the back room they had all the swatches, colors, interior, etc. The consensus is that my color and combo was a good choice by the group that was with me.

They had the Muria concept - It was pretty cool - very retro/similar to the original. Word on the street is that it will be ~700HP, RWD, only approx 50 made per year in the range of 550 - 650K price tag - performance numbers like the enzo... This is the only one Lambo NA locked up - you could only look not sit in or peak at the engine - but they did drive it in I was told...

They also had the Murci Roadster - just down right wicked. Might have to be my next car after the GSpyder....

I took no pictures - but alot of the guys with me did - so when they send it to me I will post them.

Overall the Gallardo Spyder is outstanding - and better looking than pictures do it justice. They are saying they are running a little behind (about 1 month) on production startup. So Expecting Deliveries now in March/April. Harvey did tell me that the Spyders that were in Miami a few weeks ago - get delivered to the dealers in NA in about 30 days - in which I am going to Nelson to take a spin and get to fiddle with it a little before mine comes in.

Overall a nice show - and the attention and care that both Ferrari and Lambo offered were very accomodating. Well done to Cauley and Nelson Auto for taking good care of your customers!

Bit of a weak update I know - but wanted to give a quick one to all those who couldn't go...

Richard, that sounds awesome! I am going this Sunday and I can't wait. Do you think if I mention your name they will let me up close to the Lambos (and/or Ferraris)? And do they seriously let anybody sit in the Gallardo and Murci? I would cry if I sat in one. I will post my pics for everybody when I get back.

Just ask for Harvey Ford - tell him you are a friend of mine - and see if they let you in (or throw you out ;)...

    Have fun at the show...
