At Monterey in August I saw a new swoopy sports car called the Devon GTX. I found out later it's Viper based, which kinda explains how right out of the box it sets a lap record at Laguna Seca (with Justin Bell driving)

    Their website is www.devonmotorworks.com

I read that Devon tried to buy the Viper but Chrysler passed on him as there was a differance of opinion on how much the Viper was worth or maybe on if he could scare up the coin. My question is: now that Chrysler won't sell Viper's tooling and engineering to W. Scott Devon, CEO of Devon Motorworks, what happens if they won't even sell him chassis or engines? I suppose at $500,000 each Devon could buy Vipers new and just redo them. Or does he make so much money at Coles Frozen Foods (his Grand Rapids MI company) that he is not worried about costs?

He is projecting 36 cars a year in 2010.

I see this company as similar to Callaway but not sure if Callaway only transforms customer-owned cars or buys Corvettes from GM at a discount and then makes them Callaways. (By the way, I know Reeves and he is a classy guy...)

Over the last few decades, I've seen many an entrepreneur developing a new car crash on the rocks of reality...which way is Devon headed...? Opinions please.

no suprise about lap record as viper acr is one fast beast. not sure about chances for survival though. way too much $ bc a rebodied viper is still a viper
