    Greetings.

As you might know, the State Fair has mini car shows in it's 'Classic Corral' on the weekends. For those who participate, there's free passes to the fair and free parking. Trailered vehicles can be accomodated too, if you should happen to own a race car or something

I spoke to the person who coordinates these events, and the club really needs to sign up by February to get a weekend date.

Would DFW area members be interested in a Ferrari/Italian show at the State Fair in 2005? Obviously it's a long way away, but a general feel for participation would be welcome. All the cars are behind a fence, visible to the public but not in arm's reach.

As for me, I would take the 328.

    Thoughts?

    Where is this, exactly?
And is there a list of such "car shows" for this year?

I'll check it out when I go to the fair this year,
then I'll let you know my thoughts on the above.

I would be interested, I know the SCCA has done it most years.

Just went to the fair last night...my first thought about doing a car show like this is "if you think you occasionally get asked inappropriate questions when you are out and about.....you would get bombarded at the state fair". There is a reason why they put the classic show cars behind a chainlink fence! As for free parking...lol. The lots were flashing sold out at 6:30 p.m last night...thank goodness we took a cab like we usually do and didn't have to deal with the ridiculous lines of cars trying to park.

Brian, here's a list for this year. The Jag club was there yesterday

Sept. 24 -- *Lone Star Cougars
    Sept. 25 -- *Mustangs
    Sept 26 -- *Mercedes-Benz, Mopar, Early birds
Oct. 1 -- *Impala Hoss Club
Oct 2 -- Jaguar, British Cars
Oct. 3 –- Landrovers, Corvette Legends
    Oct. 7 -- Model A Club
Oct. 9 –- Oldsmobile, Cadillac LaSalle, Z Club
Oct. 10 –- Classic Chassis, Lone Star Corvettes
    Oct. 11 -- Wooden Boats
    Oct. 16 -– Big D Cruisers. GTO
    Oct. 17 -- VW, Harleys

Frances, I don't understand your comments. The Classic Corral is surrounded by a split rail fence, and is near one end of the new car show. Perhaps you were thinking of something else? The cars themselves were inside the State Fair.

The cars are behind a wooden fence. There is free parking inside the show grounds. This is not the "general parking" that shows sold out. The free parking is for support vehicles. This is normally used for trucks & trailers and people who want to leave their cars their and then go home.

I did the show last year with the Jaguar Drivers Club http:/www.jaguardriversclub.org. Tillman let me know if you want to know more about this. Paula Ward with the Jaguar club can let you know more information about how this really works.

I was supposed to do Tech for the Jaguar Drivers club this year, but was just to busy to do so. Yes I am basically an honorary member and the webmaster.

I was there Sunday and the Corvettes were in the Corral. It's located at the far southwest corner of the fair grounds just inside the gate. There was a red all original and unrestored 1963 split window Stingray fuelie with the Z06 option there. Damn I love the fuelie Stingrays.

The cars are inside a rail fence so the general public can oogle but not touch them. Can probably fit 40 cars in there.
