Found this on a local car event calendar. Haven't ever been, but it might be fun to take the Fcars or something. Anyone want to go?
I'm flying right before and not sure what time I'll get there, but also bringing the 40 for their indoor range. I'll either shoot before registration at 5pm or register and then go shoot. Will also spend some time at Big Buck Brewery (after shooting). Think I heard Greg is coming over for the show and Ron might come early for target shooting. Good times! 4 Fchat entries, 4 carefully chosen classes and 4 class winner plaques. Huzzah! My 328 won Sport Import, kicked the rear of that Kia Saw several other Fchatters out there, had a nice night. No pics, forgot my camera.
A great time. Entered the show. Greg, Ron, and I punched holes in paper for 30 minutes. Came back in time for voting. Super at Big Buck. Rippes daughter picked up all our trophies for us as we got back late. Off to The Tap In bar in Grapevine for some great live music. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good times. Like Greg said, guns, cars, beer... just needed some strippers. The band was really good. Those 2 guys, sometimes 3, were hammering their acoustic guitars. They had everybody up on their feet.
Interesting Vette. C5 with a '62 body kit. (It's "coachwork", not a kit, per the owner.) Image Unavailable, Please Login
The biggest flaw with those "kit" muscle cars is the owners' resistance to change the side mirrors out. Doesn't matter what it is it seems, every Camaro and Corvette I've ever seen done like that has not had its mirrors changed to something more classic. If it were me, I'd change the windshield glass to original as well and make the car into a permanent roadster.
That Vette was supernice! It looked very well done, from bow to stern. Owner said the body was made of carbon fiber. It does seem like you would go with older style wheels and mirrors and such, but I bet it's a blast to own.
