Just an FYI, I found the following set at Tuesday Morning in Denton for $49.99. They had 2 or 3 more. According to the staff, there may be some in the other stores also.

In case you're looking for a last minute idea.

EDIT: it's 1:43 scale. How much does Carrera track cost? Is it worth buying the extra sets for the track alone?

That's a good price on that track, on the 'net they're usually about $70. I'd buy one at that price, but no more. If they get cheaper, I'd buy them for the track alone. I bought a similar set last year on clearance at Wal Mart for $20. Carrera is one of the better slot car sets, but this scale isn't what they're known for.

saw 5 sets at the local (Slidell, LA) Tuesday Morning, same price. they we're (are?) on a back endcap, bottom shelf, very doubtful they're even noticed. i almost bought one but just don't have the floor space. i'll check after Christmas to see if they get marked down.

Wow, F1 one racing would be a lot more interesting with a couple of loopdeloops on the race course, maybe this is a sign of things to come?

I bought one and it stinks. Loops dictate the speed, and the track is way too short. I would stick with the larger 1/32 or 1/24 scale Carrerra sets.

It's a deal. Won't get it back in the box like it came, but all parts will be there.

    Works for me.

My kids have other Carrera track that size, and with them both I can make a real track.
