Chuck's Cruise, sponsored by the SVT Club of N. Texas, is having their car show this Saturday in Grapevine. This month they are hosting a special exotics class and would like us to come out. I've been to this same show with Rob, Greg, and Ron before. Nice hot rod show, but this month could turn out to be something special--if we all show up.

REGISTRATION: Starts at 5:00 and runs til 7:00pm
ENTRY: $10.00 per entry. Includes (1) 50/50 ticket and FREE drink at Chuck's
    AWARDS PRESENTATION: 8:30pm

Interesting show. Tons of Mustangs (obviously, seeing that's who puts it together) and old(er) cars. A couple gorgeous, older vette's and hot rods. Good to see a Countache, a 355 (anyone on here??), along with a well-known 328 and Pantera. Good to see Matt and Tillman again. Also, Safe4Now.....we finally meet up at a meet! :p Enjoyed walking around, looking at the variety.

The supercharged Viper took the cake for me.....but, it wasn't in the show. It was 2 parking spots down from my truck. :)

Spent about an hour out there.. car of choice for me was the black Bentley GT that was parked by Target (couple went straight into the store, no show for them).. Car of choice for me at the show would have to be the TT Countach with the silver resto-mod Corvette at a close second..

On the way back from MSR today, there was also a show off 377 in Benbrook.

Yep.. I was checking my construction in Granbury, and noticed that on the way thru the 'brook. Wasn't anything to speak about, and I was on my way to Chucks..

Yes, the silver 'Vette was gorgeous! Sorry I missed you. I was with friends....they wanted to go eat. Such is the life of a car-guy associating with not-so-car guys. :)

The Silver 355 was me...finally was able to stay in town long enough to meet a few guys...I gave Tillman my signup for the 29th as well, but I'll be in a Viper for that ride.

The MAY Chuck's Cruise is this Saturday, 5/27. Anyone going? I think I will take a bike over. This months special class is 'competition/modified', whatever that is.

I finally uploaded some pics from the May cruise. Only Italian was a Pantera (and my Ducati Monster), but there were some other neat cars. The Challenger with wheel tubs and blower was very nice. And although I am not a big Chevy fan, the '59 was very cool.

you know its interesting but I used to go to these shows all the time and finally realized that there seemed to be some resentment towards exotics. I love classic and antique cars but when my testarossa was beat out by a 1981 Mustang stock with 45,000 original miles (Mine had 16,000) I noticed it if you werent Ford, Chevy or Mopar you could forget getting any votes.
There was even a Delorean there and he didnt get any votes...

Last Spring I was invited to bring my Lotus, and Ferrari to a show on the lake.
There were maybe 30 cars total and needless to say no one seemed interested in my original 78 Esprit, a 94 Esprit or a Testarossa. But a 55 chevy with blown engine took the show.

Disclaimer... I as well appreciate a 55 chevy or a classic american car. I love them! I also can care less if my car wins a cheesy plastic trophy or beats out any other car.. I really dont care.. But many of these hot rod car shows are attended by the same 60+ hot rod car owners every week and they can only appreaciate the same cars... With that said I am going to try to be there :)
