Last years's Strade Di Autunno was a great success, and I am hoping to continue the growth this year.

The 2005 rally has been scheduled for Oct 15, and it turns out that Texas Driver, Lambo Dallas, et. al. have also scheduled the Texas Track and Concourso for the 15th. Obviously, the TDM event is one well worth attending, and I'd hate to have conflicting Italian events the same day. The TDM/LoD event runs from 12-6 (dark) http://www.texasconcorso.com/

So, I need to know your opinions. We can move the date, cancel the event, or have it on our originally scheduled date. Here's the options related to moving it:

Oct 8 -- That's Texas/OU weekend. Does that affect anything? Also, I'm really going to need the extra week, or a lot of help.

Oct 22 -- It's open, but I'm out of town. If someone wants to coordinate the run instead of me, then this is an option. Any volunteers?

Oct 29 -- Halloween weekend, probably not the best idea.

Nov 5 -- NASCAR is in town

Nov 12 -- open, but maybe a bit late? Also, the ECN is the following week, although it could move to Oct 15 since it's so late in the evening, it would not conflict with the TDM event.

Alternatively, we could cancel the event. I'd prefer to not do that, I really like the road rallies.

Third, we could just have it on the same day. To those who attended the TDM event last year, can you give me a feel for the schedule? Would a morning rally interfere with the event? Do they even attract the same people?

Please speak up, we need your thoughts. I have my opinion, but I'll reserve it for now.

Well, I will be watching football during the game! So, it will affect me.

Not sure that's an issue... but that is also the FFQC weekend... but given the horror that is headed inland right now, it may be that event will need to be cancelled this year... resulting in a bunch of Ferraris with nothing to do.

We vote for November 5th or keep at October 15.

Just FYI, if it's Nov 5 someone else will need to coordinate the event. Not a problem in my eyes as long as someone can step up.

I vote Oct 29, or keep it where it is.

I can't do Oct 15th because of the Lambo event or Nov 12th. The other dates are ok.

Tillman I can help coordinate with you. I have ideas about a driving route.

The MSR event starts in the afternoon as far as I know. However, not sure too many would want to do both events. Unless the rally ends up at MSR. That might actually make it larger for both. Talk to TDM about sponsoring a rally for everyone that ends up at MSR about the start time.

I think the 15th is a good date or the prior 8th. I think it should be a weekend when you are here Tillman. The other weekends have something going on too.

The TDM/LoD event starts at noon, that might be a little tight. I'm hoping to tag along this year (can someone loan me a Ferrari?), but most of the other dates will work for me.

My .02 is leave it on the 15th. If there are a lot of people that feel the TDM event will prevent them from participating then let's move it up to the 8th. In that event-Tillman if you need some help, feel free to call me and I will do whatever I can to help out.

I would strongly advise against the 8th or the 5th; the 15th or 22nd seem the best options.

As for the 15th passing through MSR... note that it doesn't need to *end* at MSR... just arrive before the start of the other event... then some can end their rally there and start the drive... the rest can see the cool cars that will be driving and see some member sessions on track and then continue on the rally. Just an idea.

We're now strongly considering Oct 22 for the rally, with Nov 5 as a rain date. I've juggled things to be available on the 22nd and have had some great response from volunteers to help.

Any thoughts on that date before we settle on it?

    Thanks

The 22nd works for me. You can count on my non-Ferrari driving participation. Not sure what I can do to help out, but please contact me if you have any specific needs.

Trying to schedule an event is so much fun (tongue firmly placed in cheek). Unfortunately we have a prior obligation for the 22nd.
