Met with Greg Minor (manager) today. Nice guy and we should be able to do some events together in the future. Everything looks about the same. Some familiar faces still around... Danny in parts and ? at the front desk. Not too many Ferraris on the floor... 456M GTA, 360 Spider, and (2) 360 Coupes. About 4-5 Maseratis. Stop by, say Hi and drop the FCA and FerrariChat.com name.
The 612 is so much better looking then in pictures, I was going to take the girl up there to get a look. But I guess she has to wait
Any reason for there not being as many Ferrari's back when it was FoD?? Is Boardwalk not doing consignments??
I have been getting my 355 sorted out at Boardwalk. The Guys have been good to deal with. In the last few weeks I have had them put 2 cats on my car, a Tubi, align it and just kinda check it out. Aaron in Service has been easy to deal with. Danny in parts, still around, still knows his stuff.
Da_n skippy! We know they guys over at BFMOD well and we hope to develop a good relationship with them as well, but their inability or unwillingness to do consignments is definitely a plus for LOD! JP
Yes looking at your online inventory now I have never seen the Murci Roadster, F40 or S7 on the lot. My guess is you guys keep them locked up inside?
They are TOP SECRET! Shh!! Mr. Peck, the next time I have time, I need to give you a call so I can check out the Murci Roadster. BTW, is Ken Comrie still there?? He gave me a nice tour of the showroom over the Summer & answered all the Qs I had.
Leland, The first Murcie Roadster we had sold within a few days so it was not here long. The F40 and the S7 are in the showroom. Anytime you want to come by and look feel free to stop by and ask for me. Be sure to let me know you're from F-chat. Mikey, Yes Ken Comrie is still here although he does not have much client interaction anymore being the IT director for the store. He will sometimes help out with tours when the sales dept. is tied up with other tours or clients.
Slightly off topic, but are they still in business?? They cleared out most of their inventory a few days ago. They have about 5-6 cars in the parking lot outside including 2 LS430s, a F355 Spyder, & new Viper, plus the cars in the showroom.
I worked with Greg at Baillargeon Audi when he was manager there. We talked quite a lot about Ferrari and consignments. He is insistent that he can make more money for the dealership and offer more cars by not doing consignments. Greg is a good car guy and knows the market very well. You will probably see some fairly priced nice cars start to appear as he gets his inventory adjusted. Greg is a great guy. I did not know he was managing the store now. I will have to look him up. Hey Jonathan, how's it going? Tell Luongo I said "hey". Gary also........
Really?? Lineback has been in business for about 15 years!! Its a shame though, they really couldn't push sales. I live over by there & every time I drive by, I always saw the same cars. They just never moved. Leasing was their ultimate specialty.
Tough business. Exotic Car World and now Lineback. With the internet, financing, and leasing I'm not sure if all the overhead of a big showroom returns enough value. If you are selling new cars and have a service shop like LoD and BFMoD then it makes more sense. Otherwise might be more profitable to have a website, a secretary, and maybe a little warehouse for consignment cars.
Hmm, I didn't know Boardwalk had a Panoz dealer. If owned by Boardwalk, I doubt it will close because they are a large profitable company overall. Wasn't Lineback the Panoz dealer?
I really enjoyed the last one they held, but it's always made me curious why nobody from the dealership ever came up to me and introduced themselves to me. There couldn't have been more than 40 or 50 people there, and they obviously were hosting that party as a PR/advertising kind of thing. I really didn't know anybody that attended except Will, Matt B., and Bill Neale. I would have thought that if a dealer putting on a party like that, they'd at least introduce themselves to someone attending their party that they didn't recognize.
