You probably had them worried you were going to do a "touch and go". ;)

Some of those straight-aways almost look long enough to land and take-off on.

They are, a race a couple years ago the local Cessna dealer and skilled pilot did a full stop. I didn't see it, I doubt the distances were within the books. :D All I heard was plane had hardly any fuel and just the pilot in there.

Great photos Rob. If the straight is just long enough for a Cessna to land on, I wonder how fast some of the cars could go. (I was in the Gallardo back in June, but I was too busy watching the course to notice the speed.)

Ahh, I thought you were talking about the biplane. :) I thought the other was just some type of Yak, didn't know what a CJ6 was. I did know it wasn't a T-6, a pilot there eating at my table thought that. :)

Take off distance is longer. A good pilot can land a Cessna in little as 500 ft.

    I did not know that. I guess that's why you're the pilot and I'm a spectator. :)

With a bit of luck and a strong headwind, you can land a Cessna in less than 500ft. Case in point...back in the late 80's when I was flying actively, I landed into a heavy headwind at Manitowoc, WI (runway 35). Stall warning going as I touched down and rolled to a stop in about 100 feet without using breaks in a C152. Had I know better back then, I probably should have carried a little power on the landing at Manitowoc to give me more options. Logbook notes that I landed back at my home base of Hartford, WI on runway 36 (turf), so the headwinds must have been strong enough to put landing on runway 29 (paved) out of the x-wind envelope for the C152, since I almost never used the turf runway.
