Bought a local 1991 BMW 850i last week. Looks to be well maintained with extensive records, as the owner had the extended warranty, and nit-picked the hell out of the dealer. It has a new original color paint job and looks great. I alway think of the M1 whenever I see an 850. I hope I found a good one, but I know those 15 year old car bills could bite me. Will probably be a long term keeper for collectibility. Even has the old BMW bat phone on the console.
A few months back, Dale wanted to dump her 2001 E-320 Wagon. She is out of the suburban/minivan world for the first time since 1981. Woopee!
My new son-in law is with Nissan Corporate, so we went with family ties and got an M-35 Infinity. Drove it back to back with the G-35, and she liked the M better. Love how it drives. Good power, brakes and handling (sport edition), but a little rough around town. My favorite part is the backup camera. When you turn the steering wheel, the dotted line square where you are heading starts bending with the turn. Not great mileage around town, but she got 22mpg down to Tyler the other day, with some in town included.
Good thing is we got a 2 year lease within $15 of what the 3 year was going to cost, and the father in law discount through Nissan helped a lot. Slightly regreat not getting the Bose 10 speaker, but didnt' want the $5k package with the Navigation. She would never use it. My first Infinity and very impressed. The Japanese are still kicking our butts on many fronts. Here are a few pics of both cars.

Ditto! Gorgeous car. As is the M35. Congrats on both purchases. Hope to see them soon. Feel free to bring 'em by the dealership. *thought* Well....dang it, with you selling the E-wagon, you now have no reason to come see me. :( Oh well......if you ever get so bored that you want to come see some valet at Park Place, please feel free to do so. :D

Still have my E-500 until April when the lease ends. Looking for input under $55K and more than 2 seats. Leaving Mercedes for a while after 2 cars with frequent issues. Crazy, but I really liked the Candy Apple Red Charger SRT8 at the State Fair. The old musclecar days are calling.

Pro: SRT-8 is a cool car

Con: if you're ditching the MB on principle, you'd still have a DaimlerChrysler.

Pro: you'd have $20K more in the slush fund for when another cool car pops up that you want. :)

Nice 850 Phil. I've always loved those cars.

For your E replacement, how about the 300M SRT8? Big boy hemi, bad boy looks. Sounds like you. Or maybe a nice used '04 Jag XJR? 400hp and still in your price range. I know where to buy 'em cheap if you're interested, Brian and I both bought ours there.

Sell them all for a down payment on a Murcielago. Then sell that house to make the payments. Surely DFW has a public transprtation system, so getting around and to work would not be a problem. Maybe the son-in-law could give you a ride to work? Apartments rent pretty cheap these days, and the better ones come with a garage you could keep the demon in. You would be set! That's what I would do. :)

Not a Lambo guy. Too angular for me, but still cool. Have a TT Diablo next door if I need my bull fix. Son-in-law in NYC, so rides would be hard. Besides, we dig ditches way on the outskirts of town, well past the rail/bus lines. If I was going to sell it all I'd go 430 or Aston Martin's new 8 cyl, or maybe a Unique Performance GT350.

Congrats on your Bimmer & Infiniti. You should definitely join Bimmerforums.com, not many (maybe 2) members locally own an E31. Its also a great place for information about your car & to get great deals on parts.

Congrats on the new addition (s)! There are several 8 series in our neighborhood besides yours and mine. I will PM you the name our our independent mechanic we've used for 3 years who services the BMW... he might be willing to provide the same service as he does for me and pick up/ drop the BMW from your house.

    Cheers and enjoy!
