Another concern is the liability of removing or replacing the stock bumper as it seems to me insurance companies would/could use that to get out of repairs in the event of an accident.

Take the bumper off! It looks so much cleaner.

Correct me if I am wrong, But the bumperless pictures you posted all appear to be racecars...

I don't know how the cops are up where you live, but down here I would be concerned with being hasseled because I am driving a car without a bumper...

Just a thought...Let us know what you find out!

How are the cops where he lives? Well, here in LA Orange County (the bastion of Republicanism) is known as the Orange Curtain because of it's conservative mandates and emphasis on conformity. From what I know from friends who've grown up there he won't get any slack from law enforcement.

Keep the bumper. Oh, and yes you'll run into a lot of trouble if you get rearended and you don't have a rear bumper. The other insurance company can claim much of the damage incurred wouldn't have happened if you'd had the bumper on the car, and as such fight to settle for less than the damage actually is. Bumpers are there to protect your car.

Yes, I am in Orange County, Ca, and drive a lot.

The pictures are from the stock, except for race paint/vinal, diablo GT and GTR cars.

I *think* the GT (black bumper above) was street legal and sold in the US while the GTR (no bumper above) was strictly race. If that is the case, then the GT bumper/diffuser should be good enough for insurance with the insurance company no?

Even if, I still like bumperless. :/

Hopefully someone else has experience with this?
    or
Maybe those non photoshop pictures of a stock 6.0 without bumper?

The GT is NOT street legal in the US due to the fact that the bumpers don't conform to crash standards in the US.

I think most people bring them in as "Show & Display" and drive them on the streets. I have a friend with a GT, and he drives it on the road. (Hmm... maybe it's illegal... :))

IMO you should leave it exactly the way it is. The standard 6.0 (like yours) has one of the nicest rear ends of all time! Don't do it! :)
