Just realized that there are so many 6.0 VT's on eBay now.
Never seen so many at the same time. Wonder why!

I recall when they were being touted as the next best investment after Florida wetlands.

I dont know what E-Bay your looking at...but there is 6 2001 Diablo 6.0 cars currently listed..so out of 246 plus or minus 6.0 cars built we have 2.5% of the market advertised for sale..

Not out of the norm IMO...

HOWEVER you will note they are all at prices, "Asking at least" that are above same Vehicles "asking" prices this time last year..

The 6.0 is the LAST of the line and the BEST of the Diablo..and with so few produced world wide and only approx 130 of those having come to the USA>.they are a strong and holding investment IMO..after all there base price was apprx $262K in 2001 and are still trading at more then 60PCT plus of their orginial MSRP..thats strong..

Go look at a 355, or even 360 Ferrari cars now..no where near that strong..

When I did a quick market survey (cars, autotrader, ebay, Roy, dupont) in May there were 10 that had ask prices.

I think that a big % of owners cashed out when prices came back up.

Still think they have good investment potential.....wish they were still at $125k....my property sold too late I guess.

With all due respect to Roy, that's his favorite Lamborghini so..... They are still struggling to command $150K, and they were near $200k before the crash.

My 355 stickered for around $120k. It's certainly worth 60% of that, and they made a heck of a lot more 355s than they did 6.0s

It might be worth more than 60% to you... but not anyone else..

With all due respect...a 95 355 is not worth 60% of sticker now. Even Spyders aren't worth that...You'd be HARD pressed to pull 55k on a 95 355 right now, and even then you'd ONLY be in that range IF the belt service was recently done and all other fickle items on the 355 were taken care of, such as cats, manifolds, etc...Not saying that a 95 355 isn't a good car, but sorry to burst the bubble, it's not worth 72k.

With regards to the 6.0's and of course Joe's comment however subtle it wasn't...I tend to agree with Roy in that the 6.0 will be the next super collectible Lamborghini...it may not qualify for Miura status or Periscopa status right now, but look back at all the "I remember when I could've bought a Miura for $100k" stories and I'd bet money there were people just like Joe thinking there was no way that a tractor company could produce a collectible exotic.

Surprise! If you have the means, I'd take advantage of the lower prices on 6.0's right now, put them away...and in a few years, well...watch and see.

    Just my .02

I dont know your car, year, miles, options, coupe, spyder..but would be reaching at 60K plus for most 355 cars..but more power to you..

I dnt think they are struggling...better would be to say...

Smart owners of them currently, including Dealers such as myself..are not giving them away as we know their value..as I have said for the last two years..

Well, when ALL you really want to PUSH is a Ferrari..AND constantly tell people Lamborghini's ARE OVER PRICED...of course this does not make sense..

AND have you EVER seen HOW MUCH MONEY those Gator Catchers make in the Florida Wetlands.....they can buy any car they want..

    Depends who you believe..

    6.0 approx 246 units TOTAL

BUT that does not take into account the 43 6.0SE, last of the line cars...SOME SAY...I dont know for sure..so 246 to 289 give or take..well under 300 total

It's a 95 GTS. Best of the best if I say so myself. Plus, it just had an engine rebuild with everything under the sun replaced.

Also, it's one of one 2 white on black GTS ever made.

Don't bash the 355 too much, I might consign it to you one day. ;)

Exactly. You don't see them, but the best of the best (1995 GTB and GTS) trade between collectors all day at numbers equal to or greater than your number.

Anyway, I do love the 6.0. Would love to have one some day. I often wonder if I'd get a 6.0, or a CS.

Thanks, two more questions if I can...

What are the production figures for the pre and post '99 facelift roadster models?

And do you think the old adage "when the top goes down the price goes up" will be a factor in the future?

I like the idea of the Murci roadster....but could they have messed the top up any more?

Joe, what do you think the next collectible will be for cars that currently retail at $150k or less?

I go back a long way with Lamborghini and in fact was buying Countachs when Periscopas were $65,000 and Miuras when P400s were $50,000.

The tractor company link had zero impact on my estimation, affection or enthusiasm for the marque, as I only considered the heritage of the car company, and simply thought the founder's initial industrial involvements were interesting, nothing more.

My affection for the marque remains just as strong today. But its hardly any secret that my affection is for the older 2-seater V12 flagship cars: Miura & Countach.

As to your comment that "the 6.0 will be the next super collectible Lamborghini", we shall have to see. Time will tell......

I prefer to focus on what I know best, and we know that there are some variants of Countach (Annivesario for example) that retail for that amount or less.

As to the post-Chrysler era models, as soon as my crystal ball comes back from the restorer, I will take a look & see what it says :)
