Here lies the tale of a very unloved 1991 Diablo engine rebuild. I'll upload pictures and text as often as possible
Here some pictures of the Diablo outside our workshop having been dropped off by our client. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Ya know..I've never understood why people leave the intake manifold on when removing the engine. 3 nuts a couple of wiring disconnects and she's off..all off 10 minutes worth of work. I remove it to save the side airboxes from possible damage, and it helps with vision when titling the engine out of the car. And it good practice to replace the intake sealing o-rings while you have the thing apart anyway. Anyhoo..looks like its gonna be a fun thread to follow..Good luck!
All will be revealed (it's a very sorry tale), but originally the car was booked in for just a few niggly things and a clutch change.
Yes it was running very poorly indeed. One of the niggly items on the list to resolve was a non functioning electric window.
Our client had only just bought the car (without having had a professional inspection done) a week before the clutch failed It was brought to us to install an uprated clutch and deal with a few other niggles. Unfortunately when it arrived and we had the opportunity to have a close look, it became clear that this car had seen a fair amount of action, including a (badly executed) colour change from red! That was just the first of some unhappy suprises
This is the engine bay after removal. The filters you can see are a sports type. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Very cool thread ! Got out my popcorn for this one ! Does the owner also plan to repaint ? And if so, what color ?
Upon removal of the cylinder heads, this is what we found floating around in one of the cylinders. Anyone guess what it is? Image Unavailable, Please Login
