I am new to Diablo ownership, but wow what a car! It is to me the definition of supercar. Compared to my 930 and 355 it blows them away as far as being an event taking it out. My 355 is more nimble, my 930 accelerates harder but the Diablo is addictive. It's the king of the highway. The torque and sound of the V12, the driving position, the doors, the looks add up to a unique experience unlike anything else imaginable. I'm in love. [IMG]

This is my current problem. I thought after buying the Diablo I would start saving up for a 355, 360, or 430. Unfortunately I'm coming to the conclusion that they would provide NOTHING that the Diablo doesn't already do better.

So now I'm starting to look towards plus daily drivers like 997 Porsche Turbo PDK, or Audi R8 V10.

I recommend the Testarossa, it's no Diablo but it's a damn close second.

At some point I will add a 355 or 360 to the stable. They are no mid-mounted V12 car but they (especially 355) are small and nimble, with zingy engines. They are about finesse and balance whereas the Diablo is more about raw power and riding a wild bull.

The Diablo is more special in my opinion (and outside of the Lamborghini line it is a singular driving experience), but don't discount the joys of 5 valve Ferrari V8s!

One other car on the list (very near the top) is a 997.2 GT3. Those are very special cars and only the Carrera GT is more desirable in my mind in terms of P-cars.

Hard to beat Turbo PDKs or Audi R8+ in terms of every weekday use.

Natural comparison, but the TR is much less powerful and not nearly as attractive. The Boxer actually came in 2nd to the Diablo, which for me is far superior to the TR. But now the Boxer is un-obtanium for my budget.

I spoke with someone at Lucky Motors - no documentation on the car, do not have the original wheels. Said it was the result of a divorce of a client of theirs, wife got the car and sold it to them...oh, and congrats on the black '91!!! That seemed like a roll of the dice that came out a winner!

If I want small and nimble, a 997.1 GT3 will run rings around a 355 or 360, and be reliable. Then again I live in Houston, where nimble doesn't mean squat.

Will be interesting watching the 997.2 GT3 RS market. Already there are a few 991 GT3s priced lower than all the previous gen cars.

What is with these side miror colors? Was it an option to have body color mirrors, or is it model year related, repainted?

I think the mirrors and there arms became body coloured around 1993/4 with the introduction of the VT and its revisions. Happy to be corrected on date.

The triangle on the door remained black throughout production (all variants), so the white example here has been painted subsequently.

There can't be many yellow 1991 Diablos for sale out there who are owned by a woman who got it in a divorce. Just can't be. This is possibly the car that I've seen before in person. If so, it has has paint work done. Not just touch up, but a whole panel or door (I don't recall). Again, it might not be. But if it is, I've seen it and I know approx how much Lucky got it for.

They are beautiful and unique! Every event I take the Diablo to, here in Houston, I have been the only one. But here on this forum, I guess I'm just another black one!

IMO black is the one to die for - your Diablo is wonderful...... but you need some spacers (20-25mm)

If all goes well I should have her back together in time. I pulled the hood and front bumper for a respray after Ferrari Festival last week. After re-install I'll clear-bra the entire front end. Otherwise, I'll just bring my plain ole F430?
