I was considering a turbo set up on my SV also, but not a Quad , that might be overkill , you have to stay under 5 pounds of boost to keep from a total motor rebuild, I was advised to upgrade the fuel pumps too even under 5 pounds, my idea was to use the SVS turbo system, they do not come right off the exhaust manifold but rather at the end of the exhaust so the air charge is much cooler to start with . Keep us posted on what your going to do .

    Jeff,

The quad turbo setup is more trouble then its worth. Intake and exhaust plumbing would be difficult and inefficient, not to mention the increased weight of two additional turbo chargers.

The best setup would be to develop the system as two separate 6 cylinder engines with 1 turbo for each bank. A common intercooler plenum can be used to reduce plumbing.

I was planning on building the engine, but out of a twin setup can I get 1200hp?

In theory, yes. But there are many factors that you must consider when venturing past 1,000 hp. You will have to run race gas full time at that level. Will the transmission, axles, and clutch be able to withstand that much power?

I recommend building the engine to support up to 1,200 but lowering the power to 800-900. Instead of pushing the mechanical limits, you will have a safety cushion to help your engine last long term.

The problem i see with 1200 Hp is that you have to be able to drive it , if you are burning or spinning the tires in all the gears then it makes it hard to control the vehicle , my old Skyline had so much power it would spin the wheels in 5 th gear when the turbo kicked in , it was fast but might have been faster if i turned the boost down a bit , My Diablo , in the heat of August will spin the tire in 3 rd gear above 6,000 RPM , so if i had twice the power , it would be close to impossible to drive it hard , Sure it would be fun as hell, but IMO , i think 800 HP should be plenty to take out anybody who would pull up next to you .

The Diablo 6.0 is AWD so that should help fight traction issues. The mechanical limits of the AWD system are more of a concern at 1,200 hp over traction. I agree, 800-900 hp on 93 octane would be ideal for a street application.

    Hey Jeff,
Not the best place to post it, but can't find pics of your 6.0. Can you post some? You have the former wrecked Missy Elliott car, yes? I believe there is a Viola Ophelia in Rhode Island that attends events.

800 BHP sounds just right to me too. Koenig Specials have a lot of experience with turbo charging the Diablo, they offer an 800 BHP upgrade here (scroll down) http://www.koenig-specials.com/homepage%20neu/navigation%20neu%20englisch.htm
