They are an incrediable car..have this one available as well.. 11,000 miles with an extra rare color interior that is just in excellent condition! http://www.catsexotics.com/web/1317/vehicle/666781/1999-Lamborghini-Diablo-SV Image Unavailable, Please Login
Car is Titanium. These cars are special. I am surprised that there are still a few for sale as they were brought to the US in very smal numbers and they are teriffic cars. Never to be built again!!
ONLY 25 1999 cars to the USA, with the upgraded brakes, electronics and interior dash and a bunch of other small detals as well. By my records, due to total accidents as well as Katrina ncident...only 19 still on the "road" in the USA..and of that..maybe 10 good ones..??
Sorry, imo I think you guys are completely wrong. Diablo all the way. 1. Although the GT is an awesome car, they make almost 5000 of them, so more GTs were made than all variants of Diablo combined. 2. Also, v12 vs v8; obviously v12 wins. 3. Performance is pretty much a tie. 4. Looks, subjective, but almost all prefer the Diablo. With 2 parked together, which draws the bigger crowd? 5. Name? Lambo wins here are there is no comparison of the emotions and attention the Lambo name raises vs. the Ford name. So I vote Diablo for the above reasons. If I had to use one as a daily driver, I would prefer the GT since it is a Ford. But, come on, it is a rare bird that uses, or will use either as a daily driver.
Wow! That's quite an assesment, what say we start with accurate information. 1. Although the GT is an awesome car, they make almost 5000 of them, so more GTs were made than all variants of Diablo combined. Not to split hairs but: Here is what I have found. The total number of FGT's was 4038. I would say that 3000 remaining cars in the U.S. with NO STORIES is an optimistic number. Europe only had imported 101 of the Ford GT. (Sales and Productions are N/A.) UK only imported 28 of the Ford GT. (Sales and Productions are N/A.) Also, v12 vs v8; obviously v12 wins. How so? The GT is supercharged V8 putting out a conservative HP figure of 525, which was in fact closer to 600 once the car reached the dyno. 3. Performance is pretty much a tie. In what category? Handling? Top speed? Braking? 4. Looks, subjective, but almost all prefer the Diablo. With 2 parked together, which draws the bigger crowd? Diablo is certainly more extreme and while I'm a huge fan of the Countach and 6.0 Diablo design I can't tell you how many window slapping heads I encounter with the GT. 5. Name? Lambo wins here are there is no comparison of the emotions and attention the Lambo name raises vs. the Ford name. I don't recall Enzo Ferrari every being soundly beaten on the world stage by a Lamborghini (much less 3 of them in a 1-2-3 finish) and I assure you he knows the name FORD. And lookie what lurks in the recesses of a small garage in Italy just off of the Fiorano test track. (and it ain't no Diablo!) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ok, calm down, because I prefaced everything as just my opinion. And whether it is 4000 and change or 5000, still more production than all variants of Diablo. And regarding the name...come on!......just pick 100 random people anywhere in the world, (off the street, in the mall, anywhere! except a Fort event) and say "Ford" or "Lamborghini" and you will understand what I mean. I don't mean questioning the Ford nuts, or dead people like Enzo, I mean a random sampling, like you get just driving somewhere. Ditto with just saying "Diablo" or "GT"....same thing will happen. Before you get your panties wadded up, I love the GT also, but I think the Diablo is just a better exotic than the GT. And given that that any Diablo is much older than a GT (btw, the GT should be compared to the Murci), and the market for good Diablos is just as strong as a GT, the market overall will back up my sentiment, imo.
And I just heard that GT production even exceeded total Murcielago production in all variants as well! And with current Mustang variants making as much or more power than the GT, there may be some brand dilution imo. But the bottom line is, we all like what we like, and we like some cars better than others, and that is fine. I know people that like a new Mini better than any Lambo or Ford, and that is just fine with me.
i do own a diablo unfortunately not a GT...but i like the look a lot i also heard only good thing on the way it drives and i am sure it will be silly fast modded a diablo is rarer but the GT sure has a lot of appeal to me
The white 98 SV (with the SV displayed on the doors), was produced by the factory, to go exceptionally fast .
vaholtorf, you have no idea what your talking about except you have a clear bias. It's proven your 'facts' are bogus based purely on your opinions. What is better? Personally I prefer the GT, however the only 12 cyl. Lambo I've driven was a LP640; so it's not a good comparison. I've ridden passenger in a Diablo Roadster with Valentino driving... that would be like getting taken around in a GTX-1 with Dan Gurney driving. The GT is better built; but it is a nearly 15 years of engineering know-how more into the chassis, and materials tech... William, you'll have to dig deep down to decide which you go after first Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
nthfinity: Cool picture. I saw those GTs driving around Detroit during the Dream Cruise. Nice! I also prefer the Ford GT. ROn
Lamborghini is certainly the more exotic name, however I don't agree with the assessment that either Diablo or GT will illicit responses tilted heavily in one direction, because as you said both cars have their mystique. I believe it was your comparison so I'm simply stating facts according to empirical data and experience. Please show me a stock current Mustang variant producing more HP than a stock GT? And the term "brand dilution" has no bearing on a car produced for an automobile company's 100 year anniversary for a period of 2 years with a sub 5K production run. I would concede that there are far too many "variants" of the mustang thus downplaying the "special" moniker given to some. And you're correct in that peoples opinion is just that, however when someone is looking for input on a car to car to comparison it is quite irritating to see false information posted behind the caveat that it's "opinion" and an opinion not based on ownership experience is even worse.......in my opinion.
Thanks! Most of those cars belong to friends and acquaintances Bias is one thing, but stating facts that aren't isn't bias. Anyway... exotic cars are about ownership, passion, and feel. Facts are for bench racers. Have you driven a Ford GT? Also, would you suggest that extruded aluminum clipped together is engineering a chassis? Deflection is what matters
But thats still considered aftermarket for the 625 or 725 packages....I believe they void the warranties.
oh its just a $35,000 option from the factory that requires you to buy the car, then pay a seperate entity to then send it out to shelby and have it come back with the added power.....
Low mile FGT's in certain colors will appreciate. This is the number one car on my want list. With simple mods and a tune the car is 640whp or roughly 750 hp as the magazines rate the cars. With a swapped blower the cars put down nearly 800whp and with turbos the cars put down over 1000whp on stock motors while still retaining their stock driveability. Parts are cheaper the cars better looking which is subjective.
