I wonder how much of it is a "real" car. It might be worth bidding on just for the parts.

I already have a car hanging on my wall. :D

Could you put an engine and drivetrain out of a totalled 6.0 and actually drive this thing around?

Yes, it will be fun at the auction...will have to wait and see what happens..

As far as getting it driveable..?

Wire harness, brakes, engine...all kinds of stuff..and then you still need a tital for it..I am sure it is just sold on a bill of sale only.

You would need the VIN out of that totalled Diablo and then you would have a 6.0 Salvage Title car with ZERO miles on the chassis.

It says "built on flat floor chassis" it may by only a model with no real frame.

I do not think this is a real car missing a drivetrain...

Looking more at the ad, maybe it is just missing the drivtrain...

Hard to tell, Good Luck Roy!

Correct, when I viewed it at the Museum and speaking to people there..it does not have all the frame work, shocks, steering colum etc etc..this is just a piece of art and will always be such...it would be a shame to just buy it to part out the parts one by one..my intention for purchase is to preserve it as it once was...a display piece marking time in history.

Anyone knows what the prototype went for?
Did anyone inspect it closesly and checked what's actually inside?

    $44,000.00

All 4 wheels had chips, drivers seat pretty worn, just basics inside, no air bags, no electrical, no brakes, no drive line, no working lights, rear bonnett welded shut as was front one.

    I stopped bidding at $35K
