No joke, contact Roy if you are seriously hunting for a Lambo. He's the man when it comes to Lamborghini sourcing.
Why the 6.0?? Overall performance, durability, reliability, stronger residual value? All of the above? (Im being serious when I ask)
6.0 1) Most advance electronics 2) Best styling 3) ONLY year of its kind, high re-sale, exclusivity 4) MOST comfortable 5) Better brakes 6) Last TRUE year of the Lambo 7) PLUS ITS A 6.0!!! **********NEXT 99 ROADTSER/ LATE YEAR WITH THE (LITTLE KNOW SECERT) 6.0 HEADS!!!
2001 Diablo 6.0 VT is the best Diablo made. Some like the '99SV, but I like the Diablo 6.0 best. www.slantback.com for pictures of the 6.0L in Orange and Yellow. I currently own the Orange one. -Ben
I prefer the 6.0 but have grew a fondness for the early VT cars as well, for some reason I am drawn to 94-95 VTs.
My vote is the 99 SV: It's got rear-wheel drive, has a good looking nose, neat ram air scoops on the roof, and is fast and fun. I might be biased.
The 91-93 cars are the most raw, except for the Euro SE 30. Of course you are buying a car, that may need more maintainance, for typical ten year+ items. The brakes on these early cars, are nothing like the modern 98 and up vehicles. The 6.0 has some type of cult following. The white SV cars, are the slowest of the series.
91-93 if you want all balls. Very quick and much lighter. No P/S, no ABS, no annoying lift system. Very reliable due to simplicity of engine. I would never trade my 2wd for a VT...I also prefer the original design & pop up lights. Drawbacks and what I did: Instrument panel adjusts, but if your short it blocks full view. I bough a used pod and cut it down. Cost about $200. Brakes need to match horsepower. You can go brembo, but 911 Turbo retrofits very easily and is 1/2 the price. I also upgrade the entire a/c to R134a. So cold you can hang meat in there. Like anything else, drive each model and see what suits you. Usually newer is better and spend as much as you're willing to afford... but then there is the old school die hards... If you check some other sites you'll see guys who are disconnecting p/s and removing the front half shafts. Each has their own preference and, afterall, it is your money. Do what gives you the greatest smile.
What about the 1999 Diablo GT? More HP, Torque, 1st 'true' 6L Lambo... 500 pounds lighter than 6.0... fastest road-going Diablo ever.... exposed headlamps.... plus hood styling and air scoop above cockpit. Not to mention 2WD
He simply asked what was the best to get He asked nothing about availability or price..... so.... If you can afford one... and can find one... the GT is the best model to get. Whoever needed rearward visability anyway?
