Yesterday my dealer tried to recalibrate the parking brake on my F12, but for some reason the car has gone in some kind of a limp mode or something and now when you start the car, a "diagnosis activated" message appears on the dash, the parking brake is not working and you can't do anything to the parking brake module. They tried to contact Maranello for assistance, but there is not much progress for the moment.

Has anyone seen this message anywhere before? And how the f%$# can it be erased....

458 speaciale are prone to this issue. Not sure if F12 uses the same module. They fail on the regular. 3 month back order so far..still waiting for our module to arrive..

Not sure the module itself is the issue, because the problem appeared when they were trying to recalibrate the parking brake. So I am thinking that someone just did something, that he shouldn't done (the dealer is new and the mechanics are unexperienced) and triggered this mode. I guess now this mode just needs to be erased, but they don't know how.

This seems to be the general theme for this brand. Parts that are even slightly out of the ordinary" are either NLA or on some extended back order. I could understand this if the model was rare or old, but neither is the case here.

    hello,
I'm a repairman in Brazil and I already got some models with this problem.
if; via scanner- special functions cannot get out of diagnostic mode, remove the negative battery cable wait 15 min and put it back in, there may have been a software problem

So far.. we have only been able to recover one module by recoding it. The rest have all needed replacment. The only consistency I see with the failures are low voltage problems due to bad batteries.

Problem solved. Since I am in Maranello today, I took the car to Zanasi Group and they fixed the problem. The mechanic wasn't speaking very good English, but what he tried to explain me is that the problem was, that the calibration of the parking brake didn't go trough, because the brake itself (the part behind the wheels, not the motor) was stuck in position, so they needed to physically access it by removing the rear wheels and brake calipers and bring it back to normal. After that they calibrated the parking brake again and everything was fine.

Zanasi are top guys. Zanasi Carrozzeria repainted all the soft touch bezels, trim and switches on my 355 when they went sticky. They actually do a lot of work for Ferrari when they need to outsource for whatever reason. As I say, top guys.
