I currently own a 308 and for some time now have been considering adding a 360 to the collection. I love the 308 and would struggle to let it go for all the reasons that make it full of old school character yet still exciting enough to have some fun. It's a euro spec with single dissy and dry sump, high comp pistons and mild cams. Carb jets have also been optimised on the dyno.

Having said this I have driven the 360 and its a fantastic machine, easy to drive and so much more refined whilst still retaining that uniquely raw character that is Ferrari. There really is no way to describe the difference between the two. You just have to experience it for yourself to appreciate.

My question is when it comes to diagnosing the electronic management system is there software available to perform all the necessary adjustments/calibration and fault diagnosis. (Other than the dealer only tools)

If so what is the cost, is it as powerful as the dealer tool and does it perform all the same functions.

    Thanks

The SD2, now superseded by the SD3, is the official Ferrari tablet-style computer used for all Ferrari technical work.

They are horrendously expensive, and not generally available to anyone other than an official Ferrari dealership. Even the independent technicials have difficulty getting their hands on one, and I imagine a certain amount of subterfuge comes into play in this procedure.

The software is licensed, a game you must play (or should that be pay) if you want to get updates.

Then there is the Leonardo, another tablet style machine, and I don't know the price, but I would guess expensive, but the software ( I believe) is not licensed.

There is also the ST05, a handheld device, which I imagine does not display graphics, probably a bit larger than most handheld OBD readers.

This one may be relatively affordable, but the SD3 and the Leonardo would not be economically viable for most mortal motor hobbyists, even though they are Ferrari owners.

    ...........if you catch my drift.

The OBD probably is covered engine/emmission by a good generic scanner/reader, just won't access other things like F1, Capote, Display , HVAC etc., so in answer to your question a few hundred will give a lot of accessability. Durametric are in process of beta testing system for specific models with much fuller coverage, and might be around $2K per.

The Leonardo with full access and coverage is a pro tool around $20K, they too are developing a model specific option for owners.

The Leonardo model for individual owners will be priced at $3995.00 It will only work on one model of Ferrari or Maserati, hopefully by the end of the year.
