Just starting to toy around in my month old Mondial T. I have fixed a number of small items (horn, washer fluid spray, parking break, side mirror), but have a check engine light on (1/4). I heard this could be an oxygen sensor (which is relatively easy to replace), but might be other electronics. I also have been getting a "slow down 5/8" light at times (ususally goes off in 1-2 minutes). I wanted to get a diagnostics computer to pull error codes, but haven't been able to find any for my car. How do you guys figure out which component is problematic if not using a code reader? Thanks.

    Bruce (still loving my Mondial)

    Bruce,

First - congrats on the car!
Second - for the Mondial t the best forum is actually the 348/355 section as the engine we have is a 348 one. There you'll find the answer to these and many more questions. In short though, there is a jumper you need to short out, and then turn the ignition to the on position and start counting the flashes of the CEL. That will give you a number which is the code. Most problems with the slow downs and CELs related to exhaust are the O2 sensors or the exhaust ECUs. Anyway, repost in the 348 section and you'll get plenty of info.
