Did any Dinos ever come with Cavallino wheel center caps?

    I'm trying to figure out what these center caps(the set on the right) fit. They are the same size as the Dino ones, but I was under the impression that Dinos never came with any Cavallino style center caps. Is this correct? Could these be aftermarket items? Were aftermarket Cavallino caps ever sold for Dino applications??

    I've compared them to some 3 series & 400 as well. The size is the same as some, but on those that do match, there is an extra black surround piece used, which these don't have, & probably isn't available separately either.

    these emblems are designed to attatch to the 308gt4 caps that snap onto the wheels (like hubcaps). the later 308/400's had snap in plastic inserts that are black and have the yellow centers. the 308'400 type is similar to what you see on most cars today.

    I have bought a number of Dino parts from Mike at Superformance over the last 2 years, and have been very happy with his prices and quality. The Dino emblems he carries are the metal-backed reproductions. The problem with these IMO is that they are slightly smaller in diameter than the original plastic-backed emblems. Also, the yellow background color is not quite bright enough - it's a duller shade than it should be. I ordered some from Mike, but wasn't satisfied, and returned them. He gave me a credit promptly.
    Subsequently, I bought NOS emblems from Dennis McCann (not cheap but correct). I hear he doesn't have any perfect ones in inventory, but may have a few with with minor spots missing in the background color, which can be easily touched up. Might want to try Dennis.

    That's pretty much what I heard. I ordered the metal backed repro from my local Ferrari dealer, but returned it as soon as I saw it. Sounds like another job for Unobtainium Supply!

    I have Mike's on my car. Maybe from an early batch. They look perfect, at least to me.

    Dave - Yes, I recall Mike at Superformance telling me that he used to carry the nos emblems, but couldn't find them anymore and that the metal-backed version was the only thing available.
