Just turned the magical 30k mile mark on the odometer! I may not have put every one of those miles on her but I’ve enjoyed every one I did that turned that digit! Happy holidays all! Image Unavailable, Please Login

Mine has over 30k and my estate can determine if it’s worthless after I eventually pass away

One of my regrets for 2024 is I didn’t make material progress towards the 40k hurdle!

    Enjoy in good health!

My 1999 550 passed 30,000 miles in 2002. Currently it has been driven ~79,000 miles of which ~11,000 miles were spent on the track. Like Eric's car, mine is worthless too.

Who ever came up with this stupid 30,000 mile rule anyway?! :D

I passed 30k in 2024 too. Nice work, I understand that it is good luck. It certainly is good fortune to be able to do such an awesome (and often difficult but rewarding) thing. Hope to see you boys on the 60k thread :)

My gated, FHP 575 is the most worthless at ~110,000 miles. 107,500 are my miles.

Closing in on 30k on mine. Any real or perceived decrease in value as a result of hitting 30k will have zero impact on my financial picture now or anytime in the future. So ridiculous that this is even a "thing" given that if you own a Ferrari you probably don't lack for money. Life is short. Drive 'em!

Dave- The reason I lack for money is the fact I do own a Ferrari.

20%? LOL. That was 10,000 miles ago
    20,000 = 20%
    30,000 = 30%
    40,000 = 40%
    etc., etc., etc....
    ;)
You're gonna have to pay someone to take it off your hands!!! Might as well just keep it, at this point. :D

It's worthless...therefore there's no point in selling it for a pool house that the wife wants. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

all kidding aside, low-mile cars are great, but a 20-year-old low-mile car is nothing but deferred maintenance.

Fortunately the wife likes and drives the car. I told her to keep it another 20 years and maybe by then a 575 OEM gated and FHP may be desirable despite milage. Don't think many 575s with those factory options were imported....ie FHP bad...brakes squeal!!

Stephen- Funny thing is once the pads were bedded, mine only squealed rarely. Just often enough so you could smile and say "FHP".

Of course, mine are now on a shelf in the garage, but they worked well for quite a while.

I liked the brake squeal...slow role to stop light with brake application, sounded like a garbage truck. At first brake change, dealer installed "quiet" pads....I think next brake service I'll ask for Pagid Orange, if still available.

For several days after a track event, I used to reward people for having the city install speed humps/bumps on their streets. Longest, slowest deceleration to the bump ever, followed by lighting the tires with the sport exhaust screaming... especially after 10pm.
Apparently I wasn't the only one (some folks left pretty good stripes), since several of the were removed.
These days, I'll do it in broad daylight, and wave, in less-unique cars.

IIRC, Pagid Orange pads were the pads with the Factory FHP package....those are the squeal pads that dealers, back in the day, discouraged customers from ordering FHP. I guess they didn't wasn't to deal with the complaints from the "Country Club" Sunday drivers.
