replicar.how do you know? whats the story?
I suspect he is referring to driving one hard rather than doing the Lygon street cafe run. Driven quietly they may well be *****cats; but driven in anger you had better know what you are doing. Sheehan has driven a lot of F40's over a 23 year period. Done a lot of racing too, so I would think the opinion has some validity.
No idea. Did you know the F40 is often nicknamed " the widow maker" ? There have been a disproportionately large number of fatal accidents in them, especially considering they only made 1315 of them. How many fatals in F50's 288's ? I can't recall any?
thanks S,I,m grateful for you pointing that out, although, knowing the widow maker reasonably well, having been in her close company on a few occasions,I welcome the next liason and hope I learn fom it,If not, well!.never had occasion to try that hard, but,I already had the chance to see how easily it can happen....I repect your opinion on several things. You dont talk crap, thats always good.
he's also a journalist. 'nuff said. i've never been able to hold any other car in extended power slides the way I could with the F40. easily the most predictable and balanced car I've driven.
when ya gotta go ya gotta go,as they say, better to have loved the F40 than to have lost it,tmBOB,this is better.......by far........ Image Unavailable, Please Login
I reckon you would be right there mate! I havent done too many drifts/power slides in my 348 when I did do them, the car felt SOOOOOO balanced and it was SOOOOOO easy to control when going around the corner sideways. Ive had all my cars sideways at some point or another and the 348 was by far the easiest and most predictable to control sideways.
the F40 was sideways at turn 2 but not meaning to....Tristan will vouch,I think he was near that corner at the time.
how the hell is that agreeing with me? the F40 is far superior in that respect to a 355/308/328 and, dare I say, 360. if you found your 348 balanced and predictable, an F40 would blow you away (on so many levels)
oh well it idnt happen I guess, but I did grab first gear and get back on line asap or very embarrassing.By the way I reckon PP is absolutely right, the 348 is not that great, pedulum rear, oversteer, but OK,the F40 is mind boggling in comparison.
thank you!! I suggest anyone else wanting to comment who hasnt driven one should keep their trap shut. having said that......again I stress I'm comparing it to the other cars I've driven..and they don't come close...and I forgot to add a 360ch btw. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean that other cars can't be better...keep in mind this discussion is in response to 360C's quote.
