    Hi

Just faffing with our web site, we are trying to clarify detail and if they are right and make sure we offer the correct tyres, and i noticed we had the old TestaRossa front TRX listed on there the 240/45R415TRX when they actually fitted 240/55R415 TRX, which is odd because there is nearly 2 inches difference in diameter.

Then i found this bit of text on my web site:

The later Ferrari 512BBi came fitted with 240/55x415 Michelin TRX tyres all round, while the final incarnation of the car used the same tyre set up as the Ferrari Testarossa, namely, 240/45x 415 Michelin TRX tyres at the front and 280/45x415 Michelin TRX tyres at the rear.

And i couldnt help wondering where i got that from.

Is there any truth in it. if so can you post some references for it please so i have it for next time. I can see that they had different rims front and rear, and that makes sense, but the different tyres would be tricky.

To be fair even if i could find evidence that this was the case, i would still be saying stick to the 240/55R415 TRX because we can at least still supply them where the rear TestaRossa TRX is long gone.

Interestingly i did stumble accross these

What's your reference for a TR front tyre being 240/55R415? That just seems way too big a diameter (as you noted) being a much larger diameter than the rear tyres. The 240/45R415 is a much closer diameter match to the TR front tyre Imperial size of 225/50-16.

PS Interesting spelling error in that Michelin catalog for the BB512i showing "204/55 VR 415"

When you wrote this: "...and i noticed we had the old TestaRossa front TRX listed on there the 240/45R415TRX when they actually fitted 240/55R415 TRX...". If you meant that "...they actually fitted 240/55R415 TRX" to the BB512i = your sentence is confusing ;).

Indeed the TRX dimensions for the testarossa were 240/45 VR415 front, 280/45 VR415 rear, respectively on 210TR415 and 240TR415 rims.
    16" tyres were 225/50 and 255/50 on 8" and 10" rims.

The TRX 240/55 VR415 is proposed by Michelin for both front and rear on the BB512i, they currently do not propose the TRX dimensions for the testarossa (for which they only list the 16" tyres).
