I think the Slutmobile has been dissed by the wine-and-cheese cognoscenti. Check out the page 2 text of the new "Flat 12" mag published by the Cavallino crew.

"...there were seven 512BB and BBi, ten Testarossas, eight 512TRs, two legitimate F512Ms (not counting the truly egregious F512M spyder conversion), four 512BBLMs and two T-series Grand Prix cars."

    WTF? Is that really necessary?

    It's a JOKE, son!

Keith has that stodgy air about him, it's just the English way!

Flat 12 also lists the slut-mobile as a F 512M "spyder conversion", being "in attendance" at Cavallino.

"Flat 12" is titled "A History and Appreciation"

    William H, you're THERE! <grin>

LOL, those guys are really stiff

there is nothing egregious about the Slutmobile, its all Ferrari

The egregious part was that Ferrari never built a spyder TR

I really could care less what those losers think, I am having more fun with this car than I ever could with my clothes on :) as a matter of fact if I could keep only 1 car the Slutmobile would be IT, I'd have to keep the race car too thouigh but race cars dont really count :)

While those guys are laying around being uptight, unhappy, & offended

Who do you think is enjoying life more ? :)

    I agree. That's why I'm in a 348 Spider rather than a spider TR.

    Like this:

    Dear editors,

I find it curious that you exlaim "Ferraris are mean to be driven and enjoyed", yet almost simultaneously award a laurel wreath to cars which have been stored in a plastic bubble and only trotted out for concours events. What is so special about a concours car? Engineers in Italy spend thousands of hours designing and building these cars to be driven, and driven hard. You seem to hold your highest praise for those that never hit the red-line, never get smokin' hot, and never viscerally throw the driver against the door panel as she tears apart a windy road.

The 512m Spyder is a wonderful creation... the original creator wanted to enjoy the classic open air Ferrari experience, in the cream of the crop of the TR line. Maybe it had an ostrich interior; maybe the engine compartment was a big ragged; maybe the turbos were "over the top", maybe there was some road rash on the wheels. And maybe, just maybe, the owner smiles from ear-to-ear whenever he slams it into gear and drives it the way it was intended.

    Signed,
    "Drunk on Scotch in Winston-Salem"

Well aren't we talking here about the same folks who thought that 0846 wasn't worthy their event? So if they don't accept that historic race car, I'm not surprised they are snobby about a modified Ferrari.

No wonder I quit my Cavallino subscription a long time ago and replaced it with Forza.

Its a really wierd snobby world, all about who you know.

The Breadvan & the 1970 512 Sunoco race car & several other high profile Ferraris were both WAY more modified than the Slutmobile ever dreamed of yet they are praised by Cavallino. I really dont get it

Lets not forget Bob Norwood's Daytona powered 308 that Enzo thought was great :)

William, love it or hate it, you're car is an inspiration.

The prevailing conformist attitude among otherwise strongly-individual Ferrari owners is a sort of a paradox (but I don't think I'll waste any time trying to resolve it.)

I think I'll just order up a hello kitty paint job, and a ricer interior to match on mine, just to make my point. haha

Superbly expressed! A famous Brit once said " If you stop to throw rocks at every little dog nippng at your heels you'll never get anywhere on the journey of life" (paraphrasing) I think his name was something Churchill. Ignore the snobs and critics...enjoy the ride.

Speaking of which, I think that a fun "rib" back at the Cavillino crew (at the appropriate public event) is in order.

Photoshop job mounted on a large banner, perhaps?

    Catchy slogan embarassing them?

Send them a dressed up lady "have some fun" O-Gram?

    Ideas?!

I had to look up what egregious meant:

    "Conspicuously bad or offensive"

I disagree with that. Sure, its got a bit more gold on it than the normal Fcars, but then again, its not called the Slutmobile for nothing :D

How about a "Miss Slutmobile" contest? Do it for charity, get media coverage, maybe even a quote from one of the Cavallini about the "uplifting" aspects of Ferrari ownership.
