... and it sounded pretty cool?

I heard "Wildflower" the other day by Michael Murphy.

Gawd, I used to hate that song. (I know, I know, I'm dating myself. Go screw yourself into a tube of toothpaste.)

    How about you?

Have you ever hear a song and really listened to it for the first time?

Was it "Wildfire" instead of "Wildflower"? If so, one of my top-5 all-time hated songs. When I hear a song I hated in the 60's or 70's, it sounds even worse now.

Yes, sorry. You are absolutely correct. I used to hate this song with a passion. However, I heard it again for the first time in, well, probably before the majority of the people on this board were born. Maybe it is the comparison to the crap that gets put out today. Or, maybe, I'm getting older. (Duh!) But when I heard it the other day, I could understand the passion behind the song.

Granted, it will never come close to Wild Horses. But, the song did take me to another place for a little while. The older I get, the more I appreciate that.

    Popozao by Kevin Federline.

He is complete white trash, and all his other songs suck, but for some reason this one has grown on me.

I agree, even rancid songs can take you back. I quit keeping up with pop and rock music around '75, anyway...the only time I hear it the newer stuff is when a ricer or boomcar pulls up at a stoplight, and then I usually roll up my window.

The first time I heard "We will rock you" by Queen it surprised me as the whole thing is an intro. Also, at first, I thought Beyonce' would just be some eye candy, gimmicky, flash in the pan but now I think she's truly an entertainer.

When the song first came out, Conan had James Lipton read the lyrics to Popozao on his show. It was hilarious.

"In Portugeuse it mean bring ya azz/On the floor and bring it fast."

Old music from the band Chicago (I'm talking early/mid 70's). Now I hear their stuff and realize these guys were pretty damn good. I still HATE everything they did after 1978 or so. Cheeze city.

Yeah, that's a good one. Even Blood Sweat and Tears is sounding better.

However, the best Chicago band ever was American Flag with Michael Bloomfield.
