Only 34 412 5-speeds ever in the US. Of those 34 only 12 of them have been seen in the past 10 years.
I think that car was sold and relisted a few times last year. Look at the dates in the pic. I think they are the same pics. That also looks like a temporary plate in the rear window, implying that it has not been owned for long. But I could be wrong. JM
Looks fishy. NOT 1980 model, but 1987. Then say that in the listing! And 21,000 original miles, but the whole interior has been replaced? Something's not right with this one.
Are these numbers true? I know where a black on tan car is here in Oregon it is either the original owner or the second owner; an older gentleman who was going to sell it but backed out eventually. Neat to know it is that rare.
This one has been for sale a lot over the past few years: 1999 by Shelton Ferrari in Florida asking $52,500 October 2003 by Ferrari of Atlanta asking $53,900 January 2004 sold at Barrett Jackson for $48,600, listed as 3+ condition with nice cosmetics April 2004 offered for sale by Ferrari of Atlanta for $49,500 (makes you wonder if the car really did change hands 3 months earlier at B-J since FoA had been selling it in October 2003.) The B-J material indicated that this was a former Warner LeRoy owned vehicle, for what that is worth. John
Drew, I have what I believe is the most comprehensive database of US Dino 308GT4's and 365/400/400i/412's that exists. My databsae info comes from a variety of sources; the 3 other guys who are tracking these cars (thanks guys), the US department of transportation, various DMV's, the EPA, and many publications. In addition to the serial numbers I also have histories of many of these cars including owners names, selling prices, and service work performed. I have a few Fchatters who have asked me to sell this info on a CD and I've always refused. Frankly I'm starting to wonder why I've been holding it so secret. I'd be interested to hear other fchatters view on this. Do you think I should burn this info on a CD and ask $20 or $25 for it?
It would be a woonderful thing to have the facts onour Ferraris..My 1980 400i was purchased about 10 years ago in Dallas and has taken me that long to make it a very nice car..Ser.#28903...I would certainly pay you for the info if you have it...thank you so much for your devotion to the task..I'd like very much to know about your wine..several of my friends own wineries in California,so I drink a lot of theirs..thanks again...Jacques...
Hello Jacques I don't have your car in my database (Dave and I have exchanged) but I would love to have some information about it: transmission, colors inside and out, dual a/c, modifications or other history. Thanks, John
