I saw on another thread that stated,"I have made identical USA emission plates for the 1974 246 GTS and GT, 1973 GTS and GT, and I am currently having 1972 GTS and GT USA emission plates made, and they do differ, in some subtle ways." I am looking for a reproduction of the emissions plate for a 1972 Dino 246 GT USA Model. Mine was lost along with the engine lid drip tray. I replaced the drip tray, but, I've been unsuccessful in finding anyone who reproduces this information plate.
If you have this item available, could you contact me at [email protected]. I can't PM you because I don't think I have that privilege.

I went to an event in Lymington (Hampshire) where 50 FOC members’ cars (including my Dino, two F40s, a 250PF, a Daytona and a host of newer models) were on display in the morning at the local marina, then travelled in convoy through the town and parked up for the afternoon in the high street, which was closed off for the occasion, complete with an Italian market.

Not only was our route through the town lined with spectators, taking photos and videos, waving and cheering as we passed by, but there were huge crowds at both display venues (the organisers estimated upwards of 4,000 spectators) – all people who wanted to come and see the cars and talk to the owners and who share our enthusiasm for the marque, despite not being lucky enough to own one, and who had a great afternoon doing just that.

This, for me, is what a celebration of Ferrari’s 70th. anniversary should be all about - sharing the excitement with as many people as possible.

It's been very volatile weather here this spring, but I've managed to go for quite a few nice drives nonetheless. Yesterday was a particulary nice evening, and although I brought my camera I was having too much fun driving so I forgot taking pictures before the sun set. Did take a few snaps after sunset, and this one turned out ok.

Man, I love this car. It drives soooo well, and being mid-summer the roads were empty and all those £$€@@!! bikers are on vacation. Had one of the best drives ever, and what started out as a half hour trip ended up taking 5 hours. Caught up (!) with a black 488 GTB, and just kept on going. Forza Italia.

Norwegian summer nights go on forever, don't they?
Very interesting picture; it's very moody and somewhat brooding ...

A beautiful but very hot day at the Hillsborough Concours in the SF Bay Area. This is part of the Ferrari V6/V8 section, which featured lots of beautiful cars, but only two Dinos. My car is second from the right.

Hot and muggy in Indianapolis tonight - fun drive thru the city with the Dino. I haven't taken it out in months, started immediately and ran beautifully. Not many 45 year old cars can claim that kind of user friendliness. I am looking to buy a Lancia Stratos in the next few months - can't wait to compare the two on the same roads. And yes I still have the old CA plates from when I bought it several years ago - the Indianapois police seem to not care?

I have been in touch with them about this car. Driversource in Houston also has a nice stradale version (probably nicer than the Bonhams car) The asking price is $540 which seems a tad high given the restored petrolicios Stratos that sold for 450.

I took my Dino out early today and ended up at the Enderle Center C&C in Tustin. A smaller C&C with mostly vintage Porsches and VW with a sprinkling of other cool cars. Every time I drive my Dino it reminds me of how special it is!

The Bonhams car is a continuation car. The Petrolicious car wasn't perfect or 100% original but nice.

August 4th, 5th and 6th my wife and I participated in the Northwest Classic Rally hosted by the Alfa Romeo Owners of Oregon. I've had the privilege of participating over the last 29 years. Two days of time, speed and distance rally covering 700 - 800 miles. The weather was a little too good - around 100 degrees, but the roads and scenery were outstanding. 70+ classic cars participated in the rally and another 30+ ran the rally route as a tour. We've signed up for next year!

A trip to visit me at the race track ended a little early on the drive home with a broken throttle cable (2nd one in 2 years; will need to find a better source). Luckily Paul had some extra sports drink bottles in the trunk to help direct traffic while waiting for a tow :)

Broken speeder cables are on a increasing trend.....I am just waiting for mine to go the same way, as I fear all newer cables are bought the same place. Maybe a new product for dino246.com?

    Best Peter
