We've been having some beautiful fall weather here the last several weeks. I got out for a few hundred km. this Sunday on what will likely be the last long drive before the weather closes in for the year. Snow is in the forecast for parts of the province this weekend!

    Best Regards,
    Paul

Great color Jon! Any photos of the Belgium Dino you imported? I'm curious to see what Belgian market-specific equipment still remains (the orange rear fog light switch in the center console, small Belgian lion tag under the steering column, fire extinguisher, etc). It clearly has the required Belgium equipment rear fog lamp. I do not know if Francorchamps fitted the Belgian equipment as part of importing before sale to customers, or if the factory installed the equipment. Matthias would probably have that answer.

I suspect Francorchamps also consistently added the horse under the "Dino gt" badge on the rear as all I've seen originally sold by Garage Francorchamps had one placed there. And at least two I know had Ferrari badge on decklid in period (one was Jacques Swaters' Dino and the other is my 73 that I have period photos from around 1974). Both dealer added of course, but probably done before sale out of the showroom. I don't have enough period photos of Garage Francorchamps Dinos from in period to determine whether this always happened or not.

We’ve been having a lot of rain lately in SoCal. Today it was clear so I decided to take the Dino out through the Santa Monica Mountains. This is Paramount Ranch, the location for many movies, mostly westerns. It was also the location of the Paramount Raceway. After the fires, it exposed a lot of the old track! I’m parked where the pits were. Great place to visit!

Are you referring to “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood”? That was filmed nearby in Simi Valley. The original Spahn Ranch (which no longer exists) was a couple of miles from where it was filmed.

    Tomorrow is 04798’s 50th birthday!

But they are predicting pouring rain all day tomorrow so we went for a nice drive today including a tune up “the Italian way”. :)

Complimenti! Sunday is 04808's 50th, but due to snow, cold and road salt, the celebration will be postponed until late April. Although Dino chassis numbers don't necessarily coincide with actual production dates, it's interesting that these two Dinos, five VIN's apart, were produced so close together in time. Enjoy your "anniversary waltz" with 04798! Fred
