Did you see the transit?

Hawaii was in a good spot on the planet and we had a nice clear day. I was able to see Venus against the disc of the sun with just the aid of some welding goggle lenses. The dot of Venus was pretty small, but clearly visible.

Fortunately, just a short distance from the shop, an astronomy enthusiast had set up a small telescope with the proper filter in a small regional park. The view through the telescope was very cool!
