    Which scale? I'll assume 1:18.
What kind of cars (road or race)? I'll assume road.

That said, Hotwheels is the only option currently for "new releases." About $30 each, but they can be found cheaper on eBay (just remember to take into consideration S&H charges!) However, Kyosho has recently produced a few models, but the boxes typically still have the HW logo on them. They are twice the price, but are at least 3x the quality and detail level. Kyosho has produced the Daytona (street and comp. version), BB512, 365BB, 308, & 328 (and maybe another that I've forgotten).

Another company doing a new release is CMC (www.cmcmodelcars.de), but their only Ferrari so far is a 250SWB, and the price is a hefty $200 - probably not the model to start out a collection with!

Previous manufacturers of diecast Ferraris include Maisto, Bburago, UT (now called AutoArt), & Jouef. It all really depends on what models you're looking for. There are many cars that Mattel hasn't produced yet that can be found on eBay from other manufacturers that are ~5yrs old, but still new in the box.

I hope this helps a bit - feel free to PM me with any questions you might have! As always, when you're looking for a model, the more information you can post, the better.

Best of luck, and happy collecting!

    Aaron
