Thanks for looking - I was wondering if someone could suggest a good glue for die-cast models? A plastic side-mirror fell off one of my 1/43 cars and I'd like to re-attach it. I don't want to use general crazy glue.

    Thanks,
    Erik

You could use white glue or epoxy.

Crazy glue is just the right thing here as with anything else you are going to have to find a way to support the mirror while the glue sets.
If you do use crazy glue make darn sure not to get any on the paint obviously! Protect the area with painters tape maybe?

Using crazy glue so close to windows you take a chance of fogging them and the paint. Also if you swipe the mirror off again with crazy glue it could take some paint with it.

White glues and epoxy are semi flexible and do not fog..and can easily hold up a tiny mirror while it sets. White glue is best because it can be reactivated with water and washed off after it is dry if need be.

When you say white glue, you don't mean Elmer's Glue from grade-school, correct?

That superglue site has some sort of Threat in it, hit my filter..

Superglue makes acetone as it offgases so that's why it can do such damage to finishes.

I'd go with epoxy or something else, and on mirrors and small parts sometimes I have to drill a VERY small hole and insert a fine wire to make it "stay " on until the glue cures out.

I have a1:43rd racing 550 that came in a little smashed up and I am NOT looking forward to reassembling it!!
