I've got a non-elite 430 coupe, a non-elite 430 spider, an elite 430 challenge and an elite Scuderia... Interesting of note: they did the exhaust correctly, and is thusly different between the Scuderia and the Challenge. The non-elites have metal hoods, which I though were plastic now. The engine detail is quite an improvement on the Elites. The Scuderia is just "430 Scuderia" I thought, but they've got the "F" in there. At any rate, the shots: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not even really a fair comparison... the CS sucks hard. They didn't even bother to give it a unique undertray and used the one off the regular 360 Modena (as noted by the fact that it says "360 Modena") - they did, however get the "ducktail" added to the decklid. The Scuderia pwns it though.... what excatly are the differences between the elite and non elite 430 coupe/spider? is it worth the extra money to get the elite?
I have no idea really... Both my F430 Spider and F430 Coupe are non-elite. I did get them just prior to the whole Elite line launching, so perhaps they are of good quality beacause it was before they watered the regular versions down. Does anyone out there have a RECENTLY purchased F430 Coupe/Spider, Elite or Non-Elite?
BBR Enzo My review for the BBR Enzo This is BBR's first time in the 1/18 scale area. And they have done an outstanding job in capturing the Enzo's shape The aggresive stance is replicated very well. And from what i can see, they got the scale just right. All of the exterior panels are made out of metal, which makes it a nice and heavy model. Exterior details: The decals on this car are amazing. The cavallino badges on the side and front are not just flat sticker decals but actual badges. The rear Ferrari badge and prancing horse are photo-etched. Another nice detail is the fine mesh grill they used for the front air intakes and the rear grill. This is one of the best i've seen on any diecast model. The lights are just one of the many details you don't notice at first. But when you really start looking closely you will see that they are nicely detailed. The headlights are flush mounted in the body and the headlight housing has a carbon texture. A thing that i find really cool on this model is the gas cap. If you open the gas lid, you'll find a gas cap with a tiny Ferrari logo on it. Wheels and brakes: Another cool feature on this car are the detachable wheels. With this car comes an accessories kit. This includes a T-wrench to detach the metal wheel nut. Behind the wheels you'll find a highly detailed brake assembly. There is a Ferrari logo on the calipers and the discs are vented and made to look like they are real carbon ceramic. Interior: BBR didn't choose to use real leather for the seats. Instead they used a paint that feels soft to the touch and i think this replicates the leather used in the real Enzo better than the leather you'll find in other diecast models. The carbon fiber used in the interior is very well replicated and in the right scale. Engine bay: This model has an amazing engine bay. They have thought of just about everything. It's all there; carbon fibre, braided lines, firewall, working suspension, badges, etc. etc. Accessories kit: This kit includes: - manual - fabric car cover with prancing horse logos - scaled luggage set - T-wrench to detach the wheels - metal rod to hold the engine cover up + body shape and stance + scale + paint + detachable wheels + highly detailed brake assembly + good looking dash and steering wheel + seats feel soft + working suspension + amazing engine bay detail + all opening parts + weight of the model + shutlines + working gas lid + badges + accessories kit + etc. + tire thread - flimsy rear spoiler - doors don't open as far as they should - stitching on the seats is out of scale - tires are unmarked (this probably has to do with licenses) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Awesome!!! Now this thread is coming to life. Keep them coming guys. All the models have more + and - features that we can not always see until someone points them out. Let me add something here. About the Enzo. What really blows my mind away are two features in the interior. (On the red one I have) If you look on the top of the doors (inside) closely, you will see that there is red stitching. It is amazing that they went to the extend to add this detail in a place that is hard to see even if you are trying. The other thing is the mesh in the dash. If you look closely you would see that just as on the real car you can see the pedal box trough it. The only thing that I would wish for on the model would have been a four point harness. About the 360 CHS. This model is a joke. Other than the afore mentioned "duck tail" and front bumper and wheels, this model has not much to do with a real 360CHS. The seats are wrong, the interior door panels are wrong, the center console is wrong, the dash is wrong, the steering wheel is wrong, the mirrors are wrong, the quarter panels are wrong, the brakes are wrong, the undertray is wrong and worst of all the stance of the model is wrong. The stance is fixable in a rather easy manner, but then the tires would rub. Over all the model is WAAAAAAYYYYY WRONG, even though that very unusually for HW they got the wheels and tires spot on. I am currently working on correcting all these issues and maybe making a transkit for the 360CHS, but I put the project on hold as I have too much other stuff going on, namely my Novitec 360 kit. I also have the Elite 430 Spider. I can post some pictures of it today or tomorrow if you like.
Yeah, that pretty much covers it... it's a sh*tty model, but, the only game in town for 1:18 (at least it was, now there are none) At least Hotwheels is doing a decent job with the Elite cars - I wish Kyosho would get the license.
Rumor has it that Maysto is the favorite for the license deal, once Mattel is out. Especially since they bought Bburago. I mean Bburago have been making Ferrari models from before 1:18 cars were sold in US. I, personally would love to see it happen, as I believe that Maysto, under the BBurago brand can do ten times better job than Hot Wheels, and probably for cheaper.
Yes I have a non-Elite F430 Coupe which I got a couple months ago. Hot Wheels released 2 F430 Coupes, the first run had better brakes (red calipers) and better detailing, also it came in red, silver and black (the black is now very HTF) that is the one you have. I have the 2nd run which was purposely downgraded so HW can bully us into buying the Elite, which doesn't even make any sense considering that there is no Elite F430 Coupe
I bought mine from e-bay like a year ago. I just wanted to have the originally made Spider for my collection. The model itself is not good at all. If you want a well replicated 348 Spider, it would need to be converted from a Bburago.
Just got this guys---Looks really nice. Very well made and great finish. The tires look nice as do the wheels and brakes. I have not seen one of these in person, but can only guess that this model is right on. Interior is real nice also....Enjoy the pics.. Great pics 285, I'm waiting to see some good pics of the Maisto R8 before I pull the trigger on that Kyosho Yesterday, my UT Models Porsche 993 911 Carrera S came. It is my 2nd UT Porsche. I must say UT did a great job on it. The brakes, interior and engine are all more detailed then the UT Turbo, the UT Turbo isn't bad but this is just a fantastic model. The paint is really cool, it's a purpleish-blue that changes based on the lighting Overall this is a must have. It goes great with my other Porsches 36 pics here http://rides.webshots.com/album/562549710emOUBE?start=0 Slideshow http://rides.webshots.com/slideshow/562549710emOUBE
My Kyosho F40 arrived today so I thought I'd compare it with my 'modified' Hotwheels Elite F40. I have to say my first impression of Kyosho's effort was of slight disappointment. There were three things that struck me immediately: No split pins on the wheels, no photo-etched 'Ferrari' badge on the back (just a tampo print or decal) and fairly poor Pininfarina badges on the rear wings. To be honest, and I almost hate to say it, but it made me realise what a really good job Mattel did when transforming what was essentially the Bburago F40 into the 'Elite' version we know and sort of love. I must point out at this time that I added the split pins to my 'Elite' F40 along with the front lip spoiler and the black window tint strip on the windshield. Anyway, here we go with my review/comparison: First off, these are the loveliest examples of the F40 in 1/18 scale that are available and they both look great! The first thing you notice is that, as with most Kyosho models of cars with 'pop-up' headlights, the headlights actually do pop-up. The Kyosho also has the thin black surround to the side and indicator light lense. Both have fine mesh in the cooling ducts but the 'Elite' still has the clumsy Bburago plastic behind them. As previously mentioned te Kyosho F40 has the bottom front lip spoiler as standard (the one on the Elite was added). I also think that the overall shape of the hood on the Kyosho is just a little bit more defined and accurate. When opening the hoods they reveal well detailed internal components - the Elite has a spare wheel. Although the Kyosho goes without, it appears to be slightly more accurate with its detailing but in general both look good under the hood. I would add that the Kyosho opens right up more like the real car due to the pivot point of its hinge. Also, the black sun strip on the wind shield is standard on the Kyosho (added to my Elite). If we have a look at the rear ends of the F40s there is good and bad for both. Again, both use nice fine mesh and the Kyosho adds an 'F40' license plate which is tastefully done. However, the Elite has a nice photo etched Ferrari badge where as the Kyosho has a tampo print or decal in its place! AAAGH! How could they do that? (Might have to add a 'badge'!) The exhaust treatment on the Kyosho has an outer oval surrounding the three pipes which I'm not sure is accurate but it looks good. One thing that has bothered me for years with the Bburago/Hotwheels' rear wing is the way in which the casting/mould was made. I know it was probably down to technology at the time but it resulted in the wing being joined to the rear deck and thus creating a seam that does not exist on the real car. Fujimi did exactly the same thing with their 1/12 diecast F40 (which I also own but modified to eliminate this problem!). Next the vents in the rear window are actually cut out on the Kyosho but not on the Elite. The same goes for the rear most vents on the side of the engine cover - all cut out on the Kyosho but painted blact to give the effect of being cut out on the Elite. Very nicely done Kyosho! Moving along the wings to the fuel filler caps, the Kyosho's almost look as if they'd open as the are seperate to the body where as the Elite's are just impressions outlined in a black tampo print. Under the engine covers we have lots of nice detailing on both models. Again, the Kyosho is just that bit more accurate - it even has 'Setrab' embossed on the radiators but both are pleasing to the eye. You will notice that the Kyosho also has the correct tread pattern of the Pirelli P Zeros fitted to the real car. It is a shame that as with all Kyosho and Elite Ferraris, there is no sidewall detail to the tyres. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
