Maybe not appropriate on a Ferrari website, is the mention that at the Bonneville Speed Week 2006, a diesel powered streamliner has broken a record in the diesel category at 317mph!
The JCB Dieselmax, driven by World Land Speed Record holder Andy Green - him of the sound barrier with a jet car) has reached an exit speed of 324mph at the end of the measured mile, with a top speed of 335mph.
The JCB Dieselmax is powered by 2 5000cc 4-cylinder engines (usualy found on earth-diggers) with two stage turbochargers developing each 750HP.

This put the effort of the Honda F1 at Edwards Air Base slightly in the shade!
