Diesel in a Lambo destroys it?

Not true. At least in my part of the country, a Diesel nozzle won't even fit in a regular car. You can accidentally fill a diesel with regular, but not vice versa.

I was at a gas station a short time ago when an old lady was getting her Cadi towed due to putting diesel in it by mistake. It can be done in a lot of places. I do know some places have bigger nozzles but most expect people to be smart enough to know the difference however; that is not the case....

Diesel will NOT destroy a gas engine, it is an oil based lubricant that will not let the engine run from lack of compression, all the dealer will need to do is change the spark plugs and drain the tank, it will be fine. If the fuel is left in the cars tank for a long period of time then the fuel lines might need to be changed depending on what type of alloy they were.

I also suspect it's a lie and a PR stunt, I know a little about these guys.

 

I can't believe that poor car still runs after all the stuff they've done to it.

I think it could hurt the motor bad if run for a little time , do not forget Diesel fuel is 40 octane and the detonation it can cause will punch a hole in the top of the piston or even worse if there is such a thing as worse than a hole in one or more of the pistons .

 

Yeah, I remember seeing that episode. Guy is nuts. Not the first time he's totalled a lambo. He's had multiple, couple gallardos, and a few murcielago's. I don't think I'd want to be picking up one of his used.

 

Pretty strong testament to the durability of the car that it has lasted so long under his ownership (abuse). Gumball rallies, homemade sunroofs, etc. Both of his lambos have been beaten like rented mules since the first day he had them. It may not cost 45k to fix, but I would be amazed if it was as easy as draining fuel and replacing plugs.

 

I remember In the early to mid ninety's The gentleman down the street I knew had a maroon countach. Wasn't paying attention filled with diesel. It was a pretty substantial repair bill if memory serves me correctly.

 

My father refueled my Nissan Armada with three gallons of diesel. The car barely ran and then he noticed his mistake when he turned around to the gas station, he wasn't paying attention and talking when he did the horrible mistake. The motor did break, smokes like hell if you rev it or accelerate hard. I changed the spark plugs, emptied the tank, clean stuff up and other little things. The car still running after a year and I haven't changed the motor, but it consumes a lot of oil and I think gas is running out a lot faster and there's that clack clack sound of a busted engine. Pouring diesel did destroy my engine and in an exotic I think it will due much worst.

 

In the 70s, a mechanic friend told me to drizzle a little diesel fuel right
into the carb of my 64 Olds from time to time to "clean things out"

I have NO idea if it actually did that, but the smoke show out the tail pipe
was a sight to behold

its simple , the car is made to run on high test or premium fuel , 93 or 94 octane , just say you top off the tank with 40 octane diesel fuel , you pull out of the station and run through the gears like you would in a Lambo , but now the fuel in the tank is diluted to a low octane mix of gas and oil , if they beat on the car , the motor is most likely toast .
