    i am looking at a 1996 355 spider, and i was told the car had a 15K service recently (within 1 or 2 years) which included belts. i don't know the difference between 15K and 30K services, so if anyone could shed some light on what doesn't get done during the 15K service that gets done on a 30k, i would appreciate it.

    15K gets the customer some lubrication, the 30k you just bend over and drop 'em.

    Whats involved in all the scheduled services and what is exactly involved is in the 355 ownes manual dude. The 30k is no great mystery, and the engine stays in for it unless you deside on a belt change and want the engine droping for it.

    It has gotten very gray and it seems there are as many interpretations as there are shops. The only way to know for sure is to have the invoice and then often I have to read the parts list and figure it out from that.

    I agree with Rifledriver comments. My service is done by Algar. They have told me repeatedly the 15K and 30K are the same unless you want belts done and what the tech sees at the time. This is one of those questions that always has a different answer.
