Is there any major difference between a 2002 and 2004? All things being equal, if they're both low miles but I prefer the color on the 2002 - yet they are asking close to the same money, would I be stupid to buy the 2002?

Why wouldn't you buy the newer car? All things being equal...

Even if its not your preferred colour? :D:D

No point in having the newer car if you arent 100% happy with the colour of it IMO. :):)

With all things being equal, (condition, service history etc.etc) go with the colour you love most. Forget about what year it was built. :):)

When I bought my Ferrari 348, I wanted a red/tan colour combo. The same seller also had a red/creme 348 for sale. That car was $5K cheaper AND it had 12,500 miles less on the odometer than the car I wanted.:eek:

That car only had 6835 miles on the clock from new. Was a 1991 348 TB and was mint condition. I ended up buying the red/tan 348. **Almost** as good condition with 21,000 miles on the clock and best of all, it was my preferred colour combo. :D:D

To this day, am very very happy that I went with the colour combo I wanted. :D:D

    Not a parallel example...

The OP said the prices were the same which is different from your experience with the 348. In other words, the 2002 is overpriced (relative to the 04). Given that these cars depreciate by roughly $6k per year, thats a $12k premium he/she would be paying for a preferred color. Thats almost as much as Ferrari would charge for a 3 stage paint job on a 458! On a 360 that could easily amount to 10-15% of the selling price. So unless the OP has an absolute preference in colors (meaning one is a must have/never would buy) then thats a heavy premium for a preference. And I don't think he/she would even be considering the 04 if the color was not acceptable.

when i was buying my 360 i looked for over a year. Talked to alot of Ferrari dealers and keeped getting the same answer from everyone of them " Buy the newest you can afford". If you look at every car, you will see they improve something every year. might be minor or major. I went for a 03 360 spider and am very happy with it. I seams that alot of problems were with the older ones.

Seriously though, whats $5K?? But anyways. ;);)

Maybe the 02 is priced right and the 04 is cheaper than it should be which is why he is even considering it??? Non-prefferred colour and all. :D:D

We dont know all the details here. :):)

    Perhaps. :):)

Yes and no. People have done crazier things. :D:D

Well, colour probably isnt acceptable. But if someone offered you a newer car for the price of an older car, of course you would consider it..................till you realise its not the colour you really want. :D:D

As you already know, some colour combos command more money than the colours that are "hard to sell". Maybe this 04 is a hard to sell colour, which is why its the same price as the 02??

Everything being equal, it must come down the colour you would think? :):)

Without seeing both cars, I/we dont know jack but we will make assumptions. :D:D
